Idea ... Late night... a few "appleciders" later...instead of chasin' coons and getting rid of extra food on the nearest tree...the SOB's might be "dressed-up" as AIRSTREAMS with a little Reynold's foil wrap by morning???

Record Rally
This may be the smallest attented rally in Airstream History!!!
Call Guiness!!!!
It's OK FK1, once they see the pics of our decorations, and the bubbling cauldrons, they'll wish they were there... it seems to take a couple of years to catch on.

Howdy. I will reply, since that will keep it active.
I am still hoping that we can swing by on our way to Georgia. We have decided to take our Dodge CTD to show it off . But, we will not have our trailer with us, since time and money are at a premium for this trip, and she hasn't driven with a trailer connected.
So, recap who has signed up and where people are staying, and I will look up the campground map. Hope to see lots of people there. Maybe I can get off early Friday, and make it for dinner (maybe dessert, but not from the " desert table", too many bubbling cauldrons, probably from the heat of the desert )

Small, but intimate dinner gathering??
Where's the goats?

Howdy. This is a quote from an older post (7/22/04), so there may be additions.
Just getting closer, and I am waiting to hear my work assignment for that Friday when we leave for our vacation in Georgia. I am hoping to work out our travel plans to allow us to swing through the campground though, and visit for a while before we drive all night.
Hope to make it and see whomever is brave enough to go!
(BTW, any reply keeps this thread current and on top again).

Just found this thread today - I haven't checked the boards in quite a while. We've had our trailer about one year and have gotten lots of useful info from the forums, and this would be our first rally attended. If Moraine still has reservations open, we'll be there with a couple of kids. I saw a couple of posts about dinner and a dessert table. Could someone please fill me in on what a newbie needs to know? We're looking forward to the rally.
Thanks,
Kristin

Did you send off your papers for Airscream??
If so, did you get an assigned lot number?

Well, actually I think we said (recently) we'd know if we could do it by the end of September.
It all depends on work. I will say that it isn't looking very promising at this point.

Howdy, Eric. Hope you can make it, and if not for camping, maybe for a visit like I am trying to arrange.
I am waiting to hear final confirmation of my reqested time off. I do think I will get time off, and will be driving through centeral Illinois Friday evening, but I am hoping to work the timing to be there before dark (leave work early Friday).
Hope to see the gathering, and visit for a short while before we take off for the rest of our trip to Georgia, to arrive Saturday afternoon.
Phil

but really, Kristen, you're not THAT much of a newbie.. we've owned our Airstream for a year and about a month, and have gone to several rallies, all different in their own way and fun in their own way. It seems as if there's ALWAYS some sort of trial and error going on when yoiu own an Airstream!
How old are your kids??

Food Food Food
We need to discuss food... I think we need to have at least ONE potluck, preferably on the day we ALL will be there... I guess that's Saturday?
Friday night we'll be on our own, as we'll all arrive at different times, and have to set up.
Any one who knows me knows that we have more than your ordinary amount of kitschy- poo stuff, and that takes me a little while!
Let's shoot for a late Saturday afternoon potluck, and let's get a "head count" so we'll know who to expect. Also, what they wish to bring. I hope we don't have nine kinds of cole slaw... I HATE plain old cole slaw!
Another idea is a joint-venture Sunday morning brunch, except not everyone gets up at the same time.
These are only suggestions; people, PLEASE join in!

My papers are still on my desk as of now. We have had som major financial issues here, that and now there is a new camper coming, due around April/May. If things go the way I want, this pay check will have the moneys for Airscream and the papers will go out. I'm trying for the same spot I had at the Forum Rally.
Oh and I still have the three left over spoons from that Rally too. They will come along for the ride.

Hi,
My kids that will definitely come are Jim, 11, and Eileen 14. I have a 16 year old Susan that is only a slim chance and an 18 year old that definitely won't come. Knowing that there would be someone near her age might provide some incentive for Susan but she is less and less enthusiastic about extended periods of quality time with her family in the absence of television
Looking forward to our first rally,
Kristin
