A/S' s FOR SALE AT RALLYS ? ? ?

Hi there,

Still waiting for our A/S to be found. What might one expect in A/S's available for sale at rallys/gatherings? We were hoping some of the experienced forum members might have a general observation on this Q.

Many thanks,

suz

Depends on the rally....it's more likely at the larger regional ones.

We were at the Balloon Fiesta Rally (+/-250 A/S's) in Albruquerque, NM in October and there were several trailers bought sold and traded! A couple of A/S dealers brought new trailers to sell and folks traded in their oldies and went home with new ones. The traded in older ones were then offered for sale too...in the case of the vintage ones, they were mostly for sale by owner.

I know of four trailers that traded hands within our group alone. One of which was a vintage, two were only 1 year or two old and the other was a late 70's.

It was like a big game of musical chairs...everybody cleaning out their old stuff and packing up the new ones.

In my opinion, one of the best ways to find a trailer is through WBCCI folks...someone always knows someone who has one for sale!

Good luck in your search ~

Shari

Lightbulb Canadian Market

Hello Suz

About 5 years ago I looked at a small 30 year old Caravlle in a small town outside of Toronto. It was nice but I wanted a dual axle trailer so passed it up. A couple years later we were camping in upstate New York and noticed a small A/S pulling into the campground with New York plates on it. It looked familiar because of the unique hub caps. Sure enough it was the same Caravelle that I had previously looked at years before. We became friends with the owner of the Caravelle and learned he was from New York State.

There is a used Airstream market here in Canada. The advantage of your American dollars makes a purchase in Canada very attractive. We found our Safari on the net through the RV trader. Here is the link if you are interested in scanning the market here. Can Am ( Airstream dealer) is another option. They are only two hours east of Detroit. They usually have a good assortment of used A/s's. Good luck with your searching. I found that looking for a trailer is half the fun.

A/S's FOR SALE AT RALLYS ???

I'm sorry if I did not reply to your posts Shari and Wayne. And I am REALLY sorry if this is the second reply! Frankly, I don't remember and I get lost in the forums sometimes (but am getting a tad better )
Both were insightful - thank you both. We would appreciate you keeping an eye out for a Tradewind or Caravanner (both 25'). And does one dare make a list of must-haves?? Think I should post a want ad - "laundry list" and all ? LOL Might as well try fior what we want, eh?

Thanks,

suz

ps Shari, very cool web! and is it Sh air y or Sh are y? I've heard your name pronounced both ways
