Great Rally!

Hello folks!

Well, Don and I left Newport earlier today. We hit every kind of weather (nearly) known on our way down the coast. We had snow at Yachats! We aren't home yet, but are fairly close, only one more mountain pass.... the Siskiyous.... tomorrow. We are staying at Rogue River State park tonight. It is a good park and we stayed here last year on our way to South Beach. I took some pics, and a few didn't come out, but I will post when I get back home. The wifi connection here is pretty slow.

Chris, this was a great rally! Great to see everyone and enjoy your company! Even though the weather was very rainly and windy, we all got to visit trailers, enjoy campfires, great food and fun! Wagonmaster Chris was great!

Thanks!

Wow, great friends, great rally, Never stop to amaze me how such things can inspire the creative in me. So here goes.

I watched
Winters Lace
Settle slowly
On Summers
Sleepy trees
When it stopped
Changes began
It slipped over
The tops
Of hills
And meandered
In valley’s
Till It sat against
The stream
Then Winter’s
Cold
Cotton glove
Enclosed
Around me
And made my world
So small
A warm blanket
Entwined us
As night
Slipped in
And we joined
The trees
In slumber
Till morning
Did begin

Nicely put Don. You are both artist with pictures and words.

Can't wait to see your pictures.

A few Rally Pics

Hi everyone!

The rally was great fun! I am posting a few pictures (I really didn't take all that many, and some didn't turn out... [I am technically challenged with my sorta *new* camera...]

Below are some of the scenes with Airstreams! (We initiated our brand new awning for our Bambi in the rain and hail!)

Our Wagon Master!

At the South Beach Rally we had rain, hail, rain, hail, rain, hard rain, wind, rain, a break in the rain, then rain, and rain. But our Wagon Master Chris did a great job! And we all had fun, fun, and more fun!

Friday night we were able to be outside around the campfire and had a great potluck. Saturday night the rain and wind was so heavy our WagonMaster took care of everything and we had a lovely time inside the meeting Yurt and enjoyed our potluck (and Chris's delicious pot roast!) and then watched the Long Long Trailer thanks to Janet and Gary!

My hubby, Don [aka NorCal Bambi] presented our WagonMaster with the Supreme WagonMaster Trophy Award! He also bestowed a special *gift* to all Airstream owners. Here are a couple pics from the dinner and our WagonMaster!

Sunday Breakfast/Brunch

At the South Beach Rally Jim and Cheryl were very brave souls and invited all of us over for breakfast. They had delicious egg casseroles, wonderful cinnamon rolls (I believe our WagonMaster helped prepare these!) juice, and other delicious goodies... Thank you all! This was great fun and delicious! A great way for the folks traveling to get off to a great start!

Here is a snapshot of Jim, Jim, and Cheryl.

The trip home...

Don and I, along with a few other brave souls, stayed at South Beach an extra day/night. Our fearless WagonMaster, Chris, stayed but headed home Sunday early evening. We hope he got home okay, he phoned at one point and said he was at 700 ft. and there was snow on the road!

We headed home the next day a little after noon. We didn't get far before we hit heavy rain, hail, then snow at sea level! The pics below were at Yachats! But our Bambi did well.

More on the way home...

Well, we didn't get all the way home on Monday. But, because of our WagonMaster's excellent advice on the mountain passes and the best time get over them in bad weather... we made it to Rogue Valley State park. Had a nice evening. Woke up to several inches of snow! So we took our time before we left. Naturally Don enjoyed lounging around. Here is a pic of him posting and reading on the forum before he even got up!

There is also a picture of the weather we enjoyed going over the Siskiyou mountains. Hey, we saw more snow!

We had a great time at the rally, it was great to see all the trailers and our friends! We will go again in a heartbeat! So many to thank for so many things! Thanks to Chris for being our WagonMaster! Thanks to Gary and Janet for all the things they helped with and did ~ not to mention their great company. Thanks to the Jordan's for a wonderful breakfast and fun stories. Thanks to SequoiaCoast for being real troupers and making the rally ~ their Airstream is a delight! Thanks to everyone who attended and helped make it a great time!

Thank you for the pics! My camera was so cold, I couldn't use it. So I took a few with the video camera that also takes digital photos-- but they aren't very clear. (I need to read the manual)

It's still raining here and it even snowed last night . I haven't even cleaned out the Airstream because it's so wet and cold!

Here's a pic on our way home:

Hi all, I just wanted to say thanks for coming to South Beach and enduring the weather ! I think we all had a good time in spite of the wild weather.

Thanks Don for the wagonmaster trophy and coming in spite of a foot of snow at your house.

Thanks to Janet and Gary for bringing movies for Saturday night. I am soo glad I rented the Meeting hall for Saturday.

Thank you all for the condolences as well. Getting out of town really helped a lot.

Take care and see ya all at the the next rally !

The photos I took can be viewed here.

A great Rally

Thanks again Chris for setting up the rally. We had a great time as always. It was nice to see and catch up with everyone.

We stayed an extra night and had a relaxing visit with Janet, Gary, Claudia and Don.

Here are a couple of the pictures I took when it wasn't raining. You can see more here:

Nice pics!

I am so glad others like Chris and Kasey take photos and share them! I am ready to go again! We have been home (not even a week) and we have *itchy* feet!

Looks like great fun was had by all. And how cool is the yurt for meals/movies out of the elements!

Wish we could have gone.

11 days until D-day. Yikes!
