Sorry Bill, was looking forward to seeing you and Penny. Take care and looking to see you down the road. We have camped together for about 15 years, you will be missed!

[Trash can ready to go.] Any of group in my area stop by as I have 2 1/2 acres of 5 1/2 acres wide drive into this area, Can dry camp unless wet as grass, if wet gravel other drive to barn & machine shed generators ok. have well water at house [out side faucet], have circle drive easy in & out at house also can dump gray water, maybe black, W/out any hassle from neighbors. This area is horse country. My property well manicured not slop hole. [featherbedder] Bill
You're probably wise, Bill. I don't blame you at all. As Mike says, we'll miss seeing you! We've all done this for a LOT of years now! I expect this will be a very sedate, low-key get-together this year.

Best wishes for continued health this summer... and we'll hopefully see you next year!

Bill I understand completely. But the realization is that no group campout until they come up with a vaccine, is going to be totally safe. The only reason we have gotten to this ability to open up is that the lock downs have worked. So my greatest fear is by fall the numbers will go back up as people gather together again. Unless people truly practice social distancing and wearing the masks when in public places we could be as bad or worse that back in March and April.

I'm a firm believer that camping in itself is probably as safe as being at home. It's the social interactions that put us at risk and in many cases that's the greatest downfall in staying healthy. Again because of the fact that you can be carrying this and not even know it, I really feel that this gathering can't do all the social things we have done over the course of the last 18 years. That's quite a blow to the fun quotient. But we can be social and follow the guidelines. Lord knows we really need to get out of the house and be away in a different environment right now, and doing this campout still be a benefit to our mental health!

Take care of yourself and probably by next year we will be in a different place with this assuming that the vaccine gets developed.

Jack

What about a “traveling “ potluck?
Put your potluck dish on the end of your picnic table. While keeping appropriate distance, we go from table to table filling our plates. Then end up back at your own trailer, wash your hands and eat.

Obviously if you feel safe doing that you can. But it’s totally optional. I would not be upset by anyone who cares not to do this. Based on my risk level I probably will not.

Throw back Monday...

Going through the Rally Recap thread from 2004... and ran across this post from HotLAVA, (Tracy Lawrence.) So... with all the doom and gloom, I thought it appropriate that we invoke some of the GOOD juju of rallies past.

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f28...tml#post103603

"Yowza!

Woke up this morning with a terrible case of Post Rally Depression. So I took an unbearably hot shower, put on my smelly t-shirt, posted my sign on the lawn with my wirlygigs, clenched my keychain in my fist (thanks so much for the gifts everyone!), poured myself a chocolate milk and sat on my front lawn and had a good cry. Oh, woas me.

My Jack, Eric, and Roger Voodoo dolls are now sleeping comfortably in a bed of soft satin. They all had manicures, pedicures, and masages before I put them down for their naps. I have completely feng shuied the torture chamber and I'm playing some nice relaxing new age music and burning Chamomile candles. Tomorrow I thought I'd treat them to facials.... Wait a second.....Who am I? am I going soft? I'm......[quiver] nice.......but how the heck am I supposed to spear them with knitting needles when I now know them to be good, kind, fun individuals? Yikes.......What kind of monster have I become? Is there a 12 step program for kindness? I'm sure this will go away. I'll be back to torturing them......I hope......soon. Well, one good thing....don't have any problem torturing my new Ron Tincanluv doll. Strange......where is that knitting needle? Te he....

We had so much fun. I wish I had been able to hang around the campfire longer. Two kids make things a challenge. Plus - what a surprise to have my favorite cousin show up in their brand new-to-them Airstream! Do I get some sort of gift for converting them? She is now one of the "Airstream Wives"

I have to say - it was great to meet a bunch of people, some I had only met once, maybe twice, and most never before and feel like I was with a group of old friends.....all of this niceness is giving me hives. I sure wish I had something bad to say, but search as I may, there just isn't anything.

Thanks everyone! Let's do it again soon."

Roger, loved the throw back post. That 2004 event was fun. Thanks for updating the list. My 60 day leave of absence from work expired on June 5 but I asked for an extension and they gave me another 60 days. Grocery store work is high exposure risk. Looking forward to not worrying every time you work whether this is the customer carrying the bug.

P 15 maccamper's site available

We've decided that we're just not ready to come out of self-isolation quite yet.

I'll be cancelling our reservation for P15 in a few minutes.

We're sorry to miss visiting with you all. Just don't feel comfortable quite yet even with the social distancing. Our "Southern 7" counties in Southern Illinois are still seeing new cases of Covid 19 daily.

We don't know what kind of an increase we'll see as we enter Phase 3 of Restore Illinois.

So, till next time … be cautious and safe.

I hear you, Nancy!!! We're going to miss you. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I'm ready to come out of self-isolation either... but I'm looking forward to getting out of the house, if even for a couple of days.

Take care!

Roger

We cancelled our reservation yesterday.

We're just starting to be with our grandkids again and don't feel comfortable risking exposure to them.

Maybe next year.

Cancellation: F2 is available...

Hi everyone.

It is with great sadness I have cancelled my reservation as well. As you know, I was really looking forward to attending this year's rally.

I contracted pneumonia sometime early in January, and finally got it diagnosed a couple of weeks ago. I did a course of antibiotics and was doing fine, but four days out from the end of the antibiotics, my symptoms have returned in their full glory. I've contacted my doc for "Plan B," but in the mean time caution and common sense has to prevail. If I already have pneumonia and a weakened immune system, in these times of epidemic it would be foolish to socialize and tempt fate with the plague.

So, my friends... have a great time, and hopefully I'll get to see you at the 2021 rally. Please be sure to take and post lots of photos this year so we can at least get to see everyone vicariously!

Roger
