welcome

I think that you will find Penn Wood a welcoming place. There is the open house on Sat. that will be fun. Stop by and say hi!

Usually rallies are very open to people coming by to see the Airstreams. Since we are at a campground, you may have to register as a visitor (Carl?), but nonetheless you will be welcomed as you can see from the folks that have already responded. You've picked a heck of a gathering to come and see Airstreams. The place will be packed and there will be everything there...new, old, big, small, original, custom, as well as motorhomes.

I think maybe I was the one that posted "away form the public" earlier in this thread. This is big advantage to PennWood, and in a positive way. It's not that the public isn't wanted...it's just that it's nice to have barrier for when you want seclusion. It's not that non-owners or potential owners can't come and see what Airtsreaming is all about. The more Airstreams on the road the better.

@Carl, that gray stuff is meat? Really? Rain ending tomorrow - should be dried out and quite colorful for the rally. Looking forward to it and, then, heading south.

Come On In

Laurie,
I am one of the hosts for this rally and you are more than welcome to come anytime you can and you will soon learn that most Airstreamers are more than willing to bend your ear about their trailer and Airstreaming in general. Plus you'll get an honest answer without any sales pitch or sugar coating. We are having a trailer open house / happy hour / trailer crawl Saturday before dinner and you're more than welcome to that too if you can make it. But if Friday is the only opening in your schedule that's OK too.

This is our third year hosting this even and each year we've had folks stroll through the park that were interested in Airstreaming and I think ever single one of them has ended up with an Airstream and some of them have even become lease holders at Penn Wood.

I have a meeting for business right down the road from this event on Friday Oct 7 and I would love to get an idea of the lifestyle...

I see some posts saying you may want to be "away from the public". I can understand and respect that as when I do retire all I want is a few years of PEACE AND QUIET.

O Well...you will all LOVE Pennsylvania....the leaves are really starting to turn, the weather is great this time of year.....

I will be in the Gas Company truck if you see me there...

I am a 55 yr old woman who CANT WAIT TO RETIRE and I want an Airstream Trailer...never actually been in one, but for some reason I was bit BAAAD by the bug in the last year... and I read these forums religiously and DREAM about the day.... I'm sure some of you have felt the same way at one time or another...!!!!

This event will be the closest to my home since I became interested.......!

Have fun and be safe!!!!!!

Hey Carl....this is my first rally also. I am not sure of all that is involved, but told by my friends that it is a great time and not to worry. It is actually this second time I have towed the trailer, have been using it as a seasonal this year. Looking forward to my first visit to Penn Wood

NEW B,
You won't be a NEW B after this weekend. Just come prepared to have a good relaxing time. We'll do the rest. We'll have happy hour every evening so come prepared with your beverage of choice and a light snack to share. We're having the traditional Saturday evening pot-luck dinner so be sure to bring or mkae a side dish or desert. The schedule is light and loose and you'll be provided with a printed copy of it when you check in. We're busy sprucing up the park and making preparations for the early arrivals. Everybody be safe and we'll see you in a few days.

Thumbs up Weather Looking Up

Well a slight breeze kicked up this afternoon and blew out all the rain and clouds. Right now we have bright blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and bright sunshine. The park is drying out nicely and if the weather forecast holds out we're in for a picture perfect Pennsylvania October weekend.

The weather forecast is...

Thursday sunny 0% chance of rain 42° - 69°

Friday sunny 0% chance of rain 47° - 74°

Saturday sunny 0% chance of rain 48° - 78°

Sunday sunny 0% chance of rain 50° - 79°

Perfect weather for nightly bon-fires and no need to run the AC! You may even want to throw and extra blanket in the Airstream.

Stacey,
Well let's see, there's about 100 people going to be in attentdance so your dish should be able to serve around 101 hungry Airstreamers...Just kidding. A side dish to serve 4 - 5 people is usually enough.

I'm jealous. I know exactly where you are parked. The pond is right behind your trailer. I'm stuck at work for today and at least half of tomorrow.

Our moho is ready to go. I just need tomorrow afternoon to be here sooner.

We made it to Penn Wood. The campground is looking great. Carl came right over to make sure everything was good and to welcomed us back. Heading to the campfire. Then bed getting up 6 am to help out with the breakfast.
