Well, we do have a trip to Ft. Wilderness set for President's Weekend in February.
We plan our trips about a year in advance and purchase annual passes (you'd be surprised at how much that saves in addition to park admission). On average we go three times a year. My wife is a teacher and we have two school aged boys so we are limited to Fall Breaks, Christmas Break, Spring Break, and Summer Breaks and to the amount of annual leave I can muster.
Then we get this Airstream and venture down to Ft. Wilderness in July...well that caused us to add another three trips...so far. We just returned from our new regular trip for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party with the Airstream and have the February trip with the Airstream and another for July 4th. We took our latest toy with us on this most recent trip, golf cart, and really enjoyed having it with us.
I told you we were Disney Fanatics!

Great idea, but . . .

I've tried my options to no avail. Its just really hard to make a fair trade on those holiday weeks. If something works out you'll be the first to know. BTW, did your "s" get stuck, or do the "s's" represent the many shifts I have to get rid of?

Cool!!!!
So far so good.We are in St.Augustine right now and guess who we are next door neighbors with.Rich and Elanor and Emma. The full timers that are doing the blog with there 30ft Safari and pulling it with a Nissan Armada.Really a great family and so nice. They are trying to stay one more night in the park so we can all car pool to take the girls on a trick or treat run tomorrow night.
Well back to the topic.I hope more of you all can go.It would be really great to see some of you all again.Come on now Sugarfoot,You can do it!!!!!
Ok...How should we start this get-together off with.Ideas????
I will have to say this though...If everything goes right and it is clear skies,The sunset here is the best. The sun goes down into the Ocean and there are benches on the beach to sit and watch. Also all the sites are seperated by lots of vegetationso you get a little bit privacy.

I thought I would post a couple of photos of our campsite from our trip to Ft. Wilderness from weekend before last. It is a great campground for those who haven't stayed there. I have heard many great things about Top Sail and it is sure to be in the same league with Ft. Wilderness and that puts it at the top of the list for resorts in the U.S. I would venture to say it is probably the best State Park in the U.S. from what I have heard.

We are coming with Lucy. She will be confused going only three miles from the house to camp. I went by Tops'l yesterday afternoon to scope out the sites. That row is called Wild Oak Lane, and all of the sites are really, really nice. We will reserve a site today. As we understand it, we will arrive Friday, January 5th, and depart Sunday, January 7th. Is that correct?

We just booked site #166, and that was our third choice. There are already nine sites booked on that row. Tops'l is a super popular Snowbird destination. I would suggest booking a site SOON.

Last time I was there the entire area was filled with huge class A Coaches. We were the low rent trailer.
Freddie is 12 pounds, but we haven't told him yet. I love the puppies I want to meet them all.

The groomer we use for our now 14 mo. old cocker has shown cockers for several years. In fact, the cocker on the postage stamp is one of hers.
She told me the first time I dropped our Sulley off with her at a year old that cocker's don't get all of their brains until they are two years old. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. The previous week end we had been at Top-of-Georgia in Helen, GA and it started to rain. Sulley was standing just out from under the awning and was on his leash. He kept looking around at the rain drops hitting the ground around him trying to figure out where they were coming from. I kept calling him and tugging on the leash to no avail. Yes, you guessed it...he didn't have sense enough to come in out of the rain!!!

Yep, I bet this will be the case here. When we were in Fort Wilderness we were looked at as an oddity, a 40+ year old 17 foot trailer. What's funny is all the Class A folks came over and wanted to check out the Caravel. It's kinda tough being the small kid-on-the-block, but we sure get allot of visitors. This time we won't be alone.

Everytime we check into a campground during daylight hours everybody turns and watches as we go by. Maybe they do after dark and we just can't see them. I've had more than one compliment at dump stations and lots of comments on how Airstreams are the "Cadillac of campers" for the owners of SOB's and motorhomes. And questions about how does it tow or "I bet it tows well," or "my parents [or grandparents] had one and said it sure towed nicely".
We occassionally see another Airstream, but I don't recall seeing a Classic motorhome in our travels except on the interstate, just the newer Land Yatchs and newer big square front Airstream motorhomes.

The beach trail is at most a 10 min. ride. We took a ride to Wal-Mart when we stayed last time to purchase an additional bike so we all would have one. Moosetags mentioned that a bike trail ran by or near the park, some research is in order. We will have our bikes
