I like the "Can Opener Rally", but how about putting the date underneath in smaller font, "Jan. 5-7, 2007". Omit "First Annual" if you'd like. I think it kind of gets a little wordy. But put it in the same smaller font if you include it. Other than that I like the font. A can opener/cork screw at one end and a stylized Airstream like trailer at the other would be cool for the banner.
For a tee shirt, you would want to bring it in tighter than on the ends maybe. Something to work with anyway. Maybe shadow in the trailer/can opener in the background.
For tee shirts, you could even put the date and location (in case the next one is at a different location) on the back and put the "logo" over the right breast pocket area.

I have been watching this thing grow from just a small group to what it has become now - A GREAT GET TOGETHER. I have to say, this is one of those "perfect timing" and "right locations" thing that gets everyone out for a really good showing. I have read and learned form many of your posts and it will be fun to see some of you in person. DEVOMAN - thanks for the seed idea and location.
My addition to the tee shirt idea is the addition of a attendee listing - maybe only our forums name - on the back like they have for concert tours to show who was there. I am up for tee shirts and if a cost is involved let me know - this could be a great ebay thing...... for those that wish they could come.
For pot luck we will be making crawfish e'tuffe like we did in Georgia. Any sugguestions or changes - please let us know.

Oh, I almost forgot the MOST important thing the tee shirt/banner needs until I saw another thread. WHERE IS THE PINK FLAMINGO!!!! IT'S GOT TO HAVE ONE SOMEWHERE!!! Don Featherstone, of course.

wish i could but that was david's set-up. he's not gonna make it this time. i may have to start shopping for a set-up of my own! it all hinges around the vintage movie screen.

here's my 2¢
what do you guys think of this? it's 3 color, though. that'll cost a little more than 2 color, if it's screen printed.

I like the curved one, looks like it would fit great on a hat too! (or maybe have to shorten it for a hat-skip "rally") Does that blue match my AS, it does! YEA!
I have a prize to contribute. I have a new Wanderlust Airstream at 75 book in the box. I already have one so let's get this in the hands of someone who would enjoy it.
EDIT: Merrycan your graphic wasn't up when I posted. Cool retro!! I love the bomerang and the color is so Florida.

well devoman...
u r getting closer....
....2007....
...florida...
can opener
OR
....2007....
can opener
and that's it.
sure it doesn't have lots of words....
that's the beauty of it as carol so clearly noted.
the attended list on the back is a great idea...
especially since this is the first of many can openers...
of course folks will need to get signed up in time to be ON the shirts...
with just those few words and the right stylized graphic (twinkie, a can opener/cork screw, a sea shell or 2 or palm tree...)
perfect.
the beverly beach bash (rally) fondly refers to attendees as 'bashers'...nuff said.
current and future 'can opener' attendees, will be know by this name...
'can openers'
now how about asking a moderator to change the title of this thread...
to "2007 florida can openers rally"
its your rally devo so ya gotta ASK for the title change bro!
cheers

Flash !!!
I just spoke to the Parks Department and we have a green light to use their clubhouse.
It has a full kitchen, tables, tv, vcr etc.
I was thinking Friday or Saturday nite dinner ( as in FISH ) and Sunday morning breakfast!!!!
They also will allow a campfire if it is off the ground like a barbie on legs.
I or someone needs to get back to her with the times and dates

well that is good work lipets...
so the portable lpg fire things can be used...great.
or even a wood fire if placed in a portable fire pit thing...
but lets not make this toooooo much like a wbcci rally...
indoors, check in, name tags, cafateria style...ouch.
do we really need a clubhouse? perhaps if it rains...
i much prefer being out doors, tables pulled together, standing around the grills, holding a glass of vino or brew....and so on
like a neighborhood block party!
now it IS possible this park is too fancy for regular style pot lucks....

Sounds good to us
Since this is our first Big rally we will just go with the flow, just let me know when money is needed. I will warn everybody my 8 year old can eat his weight in shrimp. Everything sounds just great!!! Love the name.

i can take or leave the pink burd....
but it would look funnier and more subtle...
if only the legs/feet were seen at the bottom...
no head just legs/feet.
i'll be bringing my turkey decoy ornament....
cheers
