Yes I did.

It fell out of my pocket the very first day
and vanished into the dust
while I was out riding my bike across the playa.
I looked everywhere and couldn't find it.

And then miraculously it appeared at Center Camp the next day.

Of course I sang a few choruses of "Reunited and it feels so good".
Amazing...

Burning Virgin plus 1

The three daughters finally prevailed on their old man to come along, as Big Jim of Vertical Camp. You've seen it for years, tall, square, and lit up like a Rubic's Cube. I'm too sensible for their style of energy, and borrowed a motor home in 07, and bought a 72 TW/LY for 08 & the future.

What's needed most for a successful burn is to hook up with somebody sensible and experienced - cannot stress enough the preparation required to assure a safe and comfortable week in a very harsh environment. The need for GOOD goggles and Respiratory Protection is not exaggerated.

Not easy camping, it becomes CITY living - crowds, lines, art museums, musical taxi nightclubs, and restaurants; but without the cash - sharing, gifting, helping, and participating.

Look me up at Vertical Camp - I'm the father of the 3 female queens. Jim

Canopy Dimensions

I assume that a parking plan is begining to take shape. Below is a drawing of the canopy I offered for group use. The red dots are 36" steel construction stakes that need a little bit of clearance to keep them from attacking humans in the dark.

Last year Burners were using solar powered garden path lights to keep others from impaling themselves on the stakes.

I'll lay out the center of the eye so that there is room for the shade structure. We will need a path for fire and poop trucks one either side and we should have 35' remaining for that, so that's a road on either side. Ill annotate the drawing this weekend.

To that end, it's becoming more important that I get a good idea on who is arriving first (1's), later on Monday (2's), and then Tuesday (3's) and later (4's). See previous post for how your arrival time is currently predicted. PM me if I'm in left field regarding your schedule. Thanks.

Zep, I'm all for a prearranged meeting point, say Friday, Sat, or Sunday morning in-order to arrive in mass!

Any thoughts on a place.

I know there is a Gas/CStore with a bit of a dirt parking lot on the WEST approach that might work for Sunday Morning?

West of where? Do you mean on 446 west of Nixon (shores of Pyramid Lake) or on 427 on the west side of Wadsworth? I know a guy in Sparks who arrives via 446--I'll ask his advice.

BTW, Harbor Freight, love 'em, had a sale on rope so I got two 600' rolls of bright yellow nylon 3/8" rope to use as a border. Now to get some parking stakes...

The new Wal-Mart at the east exit in Fernley opened a few weeks ago, stones throw east of Wadsworth. Big parking lot. Also a new Lowes next to it.
Or maybe just drive past the BM entrance off the highway a couple miles and meet up there on the side of the road, then back track to the BM entrance.

Anyone have a portable ping pong table they don't mind getting a little dust on for a bit of beer pong?
