What size..

Dear ladies and gents I'm having a hard time trying to find a adapter to fit this it looks like a half inch they don't have this at my local RV supply store.

This is for 1966 caravel. I bought a new gas regulator and two new bottles but I can't connect everything because I can't find a connector to connect the original Has Broken

Not sure what to use the people that vintage trailer supply have no clue either

Can you cut that fitting off & add a new one and flare the end?

I have a 65 Ambassador. Went through the same scenario. Had to cut off and move to modern connection.

Looks like a standard flare fitting.
It most likely attached to a hose which connected to the regulator.
I would think either a hose made with a matching fitting.
Or a flare to NPT fitting which would connect to a hose with a matching NPT fitting.

I redid my whole propane system last year. Its a 1967 Caravel
This is the new dual tank regulator and the hose that goes from it to the main gas line under the trailer.
The second picture is the hose and where it attaches to the copper main line.
Hope this helps.

Yes it helps. Is it the Original copper pipe ? Do you know what size fittings.. I've gone to a few hose makers and they were not knowledgeable about to figure out how to make it.

I'm stuck in a rut.. I believe I'll start praying.
Something seems so simple.. I wish I had super powers

Your copper tubing should be a standard size IMO. When you cut off that old fitting [edit -- with a tubing cutter -- see Wikipedia link below] to replace it, you will have a small amount of the tubing still attached to take into the supplier as a sample. Get a new flare fitting, and a flaring tool [as needed], plus the rest of the setup hose etc..

No need to pray . . . just yet . . .

Good luck,

Peter

See the small piece that is between the hose fitting & the flare fitting on the copper?
That came from our local RV dealer.
The copper is new but the same size as the original. 5/8 OD

The rv store is a minute from my job. I'll go on Monday after work and pick it up then I'll get an address for you.
Happy to help.

I went to Jensen RV. They were all out of that particular fitting.
He called it an Offset Union. One end has a 3/8 male flare the other a 1/2" male flare.
You should not have a problem ordering this or getting one at a local plumbing supplier.
I tried......
