Weber Q Conversion to Low Pressure

All,

This has come up before, but I figured I'd try to collect all the wisdom (I've stolen!) from others into a single place.

For the nutshell summary, see the image. For a more lengthy discussion of the process--including links to all the required products on Amazon--follow the link:

http://www.introductiontoeverything....or-to-weber-q/

I hope that helps!

Awesome! Very much needed to consolidate all the info out there.

Just one question, of course...When using the high pressure option, you connect that assembly to the grill via the same hose you use to connect to the the low pressure port on the AS? Or do the two assemblies in your photo connect directly together?

Also, I need to make a hose because I bought my AS used and it wasn't included. I think I can figure that bit out though.

Thanks again.

So.. in the photo, the fitting on the right is permanently connected to the grill and is ready for quick connect LOW PRESSURE. If you want to use HIGH pressure, you add the fitting on the left, then connect your high pressure source through the "throwaway" port at the very far left of the image. A 1lb tank screws on natively; to add a 20lb tank, you'd need a hose that is designed to connect to that throwaway port threading, but those hoses are readily available.

So... you really need two hoses: 1) you need a low pressure hose that's 1/4 female to male in order to connect to the low pressure port on your airstream. 2) you need an "20lb tank to throwaway tank fitting" hose that you'd connect to your regulator if you wanted to use a high pressure source (and there's a link to hoses like that in the blog post linked above..)

I hope that helps!
