Thoughts on condition of tank?

What are your thoughts on the condition of the tank in this picture? I bought this 76' MH and need to go pick it up. Should I replace anything, upgrade, etc. How should I address the rust? Should I replace all lines? I don't know much about LP systems yet.

thanks

Go By and Let Hank Hill Check It! LOL!

Once you have the MH just drive it by the local LP dealer. They will check your LP systems for you and make any repair recommendations as to what they find. It will cost you nearly nothing compared to the piece of mind & the knowledge that it was all checked out by a pro! Happy Trails, Ed

Legally you don't need to replace the valves on older horizontal tanks, but they still need to be inspected and recertified by Hank Hill every 5 years.

Ugh. It's got rust, but how bad is the pitting from the rust. If it's fully superficial, then a good derusting and recoating would do. However, if it's pitted, well, think about it this way: Here in NM (and in many other states), it is the filler's option to reject filling a tank that is in poor shape, regardless of certification and valves.

I had the tanks for my trailer tested and re-certified. They found a bad valve. Total job was under $100.
