Storage above propane tanks
Made me a shelf that will allow me to store my power cable and a few other small items in the space above my propane tanks. Freeing up some room in the back storage of my 23D. Made out of a 1/2" piece of starboard.

It sets flat on top of the propane tanks. Very stable. Will not move due to cut out for cover brace

That's great! You should sell those. I'd be your first customer. [emoji106]

Very easy to make. Could be made out of plywood also
Just use your tank cover as a templet

Brilliant. So simple makes me wonder why someone else has not already come up with this.

It's possible that no one sells these because they restrict quick access to the tank shut off valves. Might be a code violation.

I love this one. Thanks for sharing. I would suggest one possible addition; a handle on each end to aid in lifting it up. It would be a easy lift "tray".
I don't see a code issue more than the hinged cover that is already over the tanks.

I keep my chocks on top of the tanks while traveling. I don't have a nice looking shelf like that though.

Add a hand hole to reach the valves centered over each tank, and you still have a decent storage shelf for chocks, cables, etc. Heck of a good idea. Stealing this one....

Is that space big enough to store the bars from the WD hitch while parked?
I'm seeing lots of uses for this great idea!

Not big enough for my bars but will hold two small Rubbermaid containers or what I am going to use it for is my shore cable and extension cord and a few other small items we use at most every stop. That way the propane tanks can be accessed while at camp

GREAT IDEA FOR STORING SMALL 'STUFF', HOWEVER.........
IT MIGHT ADD TOO MUCH TO THE TONGUE WEIGHT.
THE 'MANUAL' SAYS THAT THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 1000 LBS. TONGUE WT;
BUT MY SURELITE SCALE SAYS THAT MINE IS 1050 +/- 75.
THIS WT. IS AS FROM THE FACTORY.
IT SEEMS THAT OTHERS HAVE FOUND THE SAME 'OVERWEIGHT' TOO.

That's why I suggested storing the bars, they're not in there while towing.

Excellent idea! Where did you purchase the material? Lowes, Home Depot or other?
