Regulator Mounting?

Can a regulator be mounted at an angle, or do they have to be mounted vertical?

Any problem mounting it in front of the tanks, closer to the hitch ball, rather than behind which is most common?

The propane tank regulator has a vent which has to be mounted downward. If you'll look, the vent is a small looking hole with a screen in it. Most regulators also have an arrow that points the direction also. There should be no problem associated with mounting it nearer to the front of the tanks.

I've seen the vent. I am guessing the angle I am thinking will be about 30 degrees from vertical.
