Yes, that is the mounting for the original Skyliner Television Antenna that was a factory option in 1964. Sadly, the second owners didn't use it so they ripped the mast off and threw it away so I do not have the antenna. The knob for rotating the antennal is immediately behind the tube on the inside wall. It utilized twin, 300 ohm flat wire with an amplified plug that contained a 12-Volt DC outlet for a Battery Operated Television on a counter above the refrigerator in my Overlander.

Hi Kevin. I removed the original television antenna and components from my 1964 Bambi II and saved it. I would sell it if you're interested. I will never use it. Ben

I agree that most thieves today are looking for a quick score so they can buy drugs. If they had angle grinders, they'd have sold them too.
My poor man's solution (although I'm in a gated facility) is I drilled a hole in the big wing nut, and a matching hole in the aluminum crossbar. Then I put a simple paddock through both. I've since decided I really didn't need the hole in the wing nut since the padlock can span that before going through the one hole in the crossbar.
Like all security measures, you never know how good it is until it's failed.

Not my photo, but exactly the same.
