Propane tank cover....

So, I've got two brand new white propane tanks on the front of the trailer, as supplied by the PO. I'd sure like to have the aluminum tanks, but that kind of money isn't gonna happen when the existing tanks are brand new!

I was thinking about painting them silver, or maybe even powdercoated (some time when they're both empty)

So, what's everybody doing? I've seen the nice new aluminum covers, or the antique covers... I've seen plastic covers on the web for pretty cheap, also...

What's fun and pretty? (and won't blow off!?)

Exclamation For what it's worth

Don,

For the last three yrs in a row, I've been to the A/S factory and, while there walked around the campsite looking over the trailers that have had those fancy covers..
My take is this..
Not all mind you, but a vast majority of those that had the factory covers over the LP tanks were dented. It seems that, when making your turn to park, etc. the cover get hit..
Why waste your money?
For long term storage, use the canvas cover...
Just my .02 worth

ciao

Don
Don, probably the easiest thing is to paint them with metallic silver (aluminum) paint. Rustoleum brand works well. After you paint them, they'll be quite bright. Give them a coat of clear laquer. The clear tones down the bright aluminum shine, and seals it so the metallic color won't rub off. It's easy to touch up when required, only takes a few minutes, and makes a presentable looking tank when finished. Just be sure to mask the valve.
