Propane Quick Connect Advice
2008 Safari, looking to add a quick-connect outlet (either near the tanks or connected to them - see picture). Any advice on what / recommended parts to use? I have no doubt I may blow myself up, but I'm ok with that.

See the pictures below for how I did it.
I used parts from Amazon (Dozyant brand) 3/8” quick connection system parts and assorted plumbing from the big box stores.
Please note, that unless you know exactly what you are doing, don’t mess with modifying propane systems. Get some expert help.

It wouldn't be the first time, lol. I appreciate the pictures - it seems you've moved or have the battery box elsewhere? Your run seems to be where this ones battery box is - so something i'll need to work around.

Propane Quick Connect Advice
Propane plumbing for the quick connect is located just forward of the white battery box and aft of the propane tank cover. The black things are the power-operated jacks for my Propride hitch system.
Propane quick connection in use running my dual fuel Champion inverter generator. This is why I added the quick connect system.
Simple hint: use YELLOW propane-rated Teflon tape with propane. The thin white stuff will leak…hard to see, but all the joints are sealed with that yellow stuff.

I put mine where the flexible hose from the regulator connected to the copper tubing right where the A-frame joins the body of the trailer. As others have said quick disconnect from Amazon and miscellaneous plumbing parts. Use gas-rated teflon tape (yellow, more expensive) or joint compound.on all joints and test for leaks with soapy water.

Yup. Exactly. I installed a couple shut-off valves, one on the quick connect and one at the end of the flex hose to make it easy to shut stuff off quickly. Generator requires a shut off valve to stop it when it’s running on propane. It’s a design feature to bleed propane pressure out of the hose to the generator for safety.

Good project, be aware that there are female quick connects with built in ball valves. Have a great local propane company that carries all these parts in stock and will build custom combos of hoses or valves while you wait. I'm happy to pay for that service.
Good luck and be safe...

No one else has mentioned this so I will chime in.
Not all quick connect fittings are the same. Ensure you use the style for a low pressure gas system.
