Propane Lamps

Has anyone used the Humphrey propane lamp for interior lighting in their AS? Plus, Minus?

Experience with one, no.

While a great technological advance for its time, not sure I'd go that route due to heat generation. Although, if the goal is to also heat the trailer while getting light, then this makes sense as it will make heat with zero load on the 12v system.

Personally, I'd consider swapping the guts over to 12v, install a 1156 socket (or maybe 1157 to allow for multiple levels of brightness) where the core of the gas element was, and use a 2,700 - 3K LED. There is a thread somewhere on this site where somebody did this conversion.

Love for the Adirondacks

Instead of going to ’Starbucks…I make my own Coffee at home, yell out my name rong, then light a five dollar bill on fire.

I have heard more people mention how great the added heat it produced in the winter time was. We really don’t need the extra heat so we converted ours in the 55 to 12v LED. Found a bulb that kinda looks like a mantle.
