Propane appliances not working. Any ideas?

Hello and thanks in advance. I'm new to all of this.

We bought a new to us 2019 27FB GT. Love it.

I'm having problems with the propane system. It's probably just user error but here goes.

Some background info:

* Two fully topped off tanks are involved.

* The gas valves are open

* The regulator valve is green and pointing at one of the tanks

* Electric is on use with about 11.6 on the meter.

* Not plugged in

My issue is than none of the systems that use propane seem to be working.

* The stove when turned to light, fires with no result. No smell of gas

* The fridge when set to propane gets an error message. No clicking sound is heard

* The water heater when set to propane does not fire. No clicking can be heard.

I have not tried the heat pump.

Any ideas?

Have you tried the cook top?
Perhaps the system is full of air.
It takes a long time to bleed the air from the items you mentioned.
If the 11.6 is the battery voltage. That is really low. Not sure the control boards will function at that voltage.

If you open the valve on the tanks too fast sometimes a safety device shuts off the flow of gas. It thinks there is a major leak in the system and you get no gas. Shut off both tanks and then open the valves slowly.

I'd second AI's thought.

-Turn off the valves at the two cylinders.
-To remove the pressure from the regulator, unscrew the two fittings from the two tanks.
-Put put the fittings back on the two cylinders.
-VERY SLOWLY re-open the valve on the a cylinder.
-Light your stovetop burner; you may need to let it bleed a bit.

As pointed out above if your battery voltage is 11.6 thats really low and you will ruin your batteries if you keep running them down that low. You should fully charge them as soon as possible. That's probably not the cause of your propane problem though.--Frank

Get a butane match, hold the flame next to the burner 'til it lights. 👍

I agree with all above especially battery to low. Have you looked for a possible second gas line shut off valve??

We have a Caravel 20FB and had the same issue. We did everything that was suggested about opening the valves very slowly, etc. It turned out to be a bad regulator. It was easy to change, dealer sent it to me and we shipped the old one back...all under Warrenty.

We had the same problem on our new Airstream. The propane gradually got lower and lower until it didn't work at all. After trying many things, it turned out I just needed to adjust the outlet pressure on the regulator. It is a screw adjustment on the side of the regulator body.

I concur with all things stated so far. Generally speaking start with the simplest solution then work up from there.
1) did the dealer make sure everything worked before he sent you down the road? If he didn’t I would give him an ear full.
2) get new batteries if you have Deep Cycle Interstates. You have a 2019. Interstate batteries are notorious for going bad when the trailer is on the lot. They need to be kept at near full charge, or they will deteriorate fast. 11.6 on your batteries is too low. If you are hooked up to shore power turn the button to “in use” to make sure those batteries get charged as much as possible or you will ruin them (if they aren’t already ruined). I’d ask the dealer for new batteries if they haven’t been maintained. In fact if I ever buy another new AS I would negotiate 6 V or AGM batteries right away.
3) Before I start the refrigerator I typically turn on the cook stove top and get gas going through the system. Tends to bleed the system from air a bit. Generally the refrigerator may take a few times to get going on LP after sitting awhile. You will hear the spark going. If it stops before you hear a kind of whoosh, then cycle through again. Mine typically takes at least 2 tries after sitting a bit. But if the cook top doesn’t work then it’s at the tank; especially if all the systems have been tested before you got it.

Usually you have some air in the lines and you have to hold the on button for several seconds before the gas flows through
