Pilot Line for Water heater

Has anyone replaced the Pilot line to the Water heater. Have a '77 that has no gas to light the pilot. The burner works, no gas to the pilot. Removed the line and found to have no flow. It is not plugged. Diassembled the line and found what looks like a jet. However, it is solid. I may even be a factory defect? No history from PO.

For anyone looking for parts. Campering World has them.
Mine has no hole in at all, Kinda strange the unit is 29 years old an may have never worked....

Without the pilot, you should not be able to light the burner. You need to have the thermocouple heated to allow flow to the heater. This could be an indication of a more serious problem. If you heat water (that's what water heaters do) and the flame goes out when the water reaches tempature. What happens when the water cools down? the gas would turn back on and with no pilot...
Now if you just had another unit you could swap parts with

You silly, can you say Map Gas torch? Once the themo coupling has reached a temp to allow fire, it works fine, however with no hole in oriface no pilot. My spare water heater has a jumbled mess for lines, someone stole the door years ago and exposed it to the elements. Just need to replace the Oriface with a new one orrrrrrrrrrr if I knew the dia. of the hole I'd drill it out. When the new one comes in I'll soon have a spare

Have not taken one apart yet , but according to the picture in manual there is an internal pilot filter that could be plugged . Also the automatic pilot valve is replacable ( the push button) , pn 50650 .

I had to replace the whole burner assembly , nothing worked. Mine is the Bowen heater , here are the parts.
Burner 92615
Pilot assy 91603 also 60-8494
Pressur relief valve 80-8443
110-sos therm 80-8402

Idn't the internet great? Researched on the nozzle and found the specs. Looked at the thing under a wicked magnifying glass. Found a black spec, cleaned it out with one of the wife's sewin needles
Looks like a .0065 dia. hole...

I thought the same thing when I took my water heater apart last spring. Mine was a total mess, bad thermocouple, and regulator. So I replaced the thermocouple, burner tube, and pilot assembley, from my local RV dealer and she works great now. It's funny, the PO told me all the appliances worked when I bought it.

My PO told me the same thing, and guess what? Everything but the NuTone did, and he warned me about it as soon as I got into the trailer. The purchase of my Excella was the most pleasant buying experience I've ever had. I drove up a snowy hill, around a curve, and there she was. From three hundred feet away, I thought that unless he'd lied to me (he sent me 23 high-res shots of the trailer, including the axles and the entire belly pan), and unless I found something terrible in the trailer, I had FOUND *MY* AIRSTREAM.

Now it's a year later, and I've done some maintenance and a few repairs, and I have a Fantastic fan to replace one of these days, but just as he told me, everything worked when I got it. I'm trying to keep it that way.
