oily propane regulator/ blowing out propane line

I have an oily residue on the seam of my propane regulator. A RV tech told me my propane lines need to be blown out.

The regulator is otherwise working properly.

Do you agree?

Propane contains an odorant that gives it the sulfuric smell. It is added to facilitate leak detection since propane is odorless. This odorant can separate from the gas and settle in low places as an oily, smelly liquid. Blowing out the lines (and perhaps purging the tanks of liquid) could help and won't hurt.

If the liquid is coming out of the regulator seams, I'd suspect the tanks and the lines between the tanks and the regulator.

I had the liquid in my copper lines from the regulator. I didn't do anything other than lower the ends I was working on to add my quick disconnect for the grill and let the liquid drain out. Due to a regulator malfunction I also replaced it and the tank lines.

I agree completely, blow them out and presume everything else is fine unless you are seeing other issues. Some liquid tends to accumulate over time.

Disconnect a fitting in a low area as far away from the regulator as possible and blow out the lines with dry compressed air if possible.
