Need new LP tanks

Hi I am the new owner of a 1965 Globe Trotter. This is my first trailer. It came with out tanks or regulator. When calling a tank supplier they had questions I could not answer. What size tanks do I need? and what type/size of regulator?

Any advise.

Bob

tanks

I just bought 2 30 # tanks for my rig. They are the plain white ones that I plan on painting. I paid about $95 a piece for them. The regulator was about $160.

try posting here: http://www.airforums.com/forum...splay.php?f=20

or better yet, here: http://www.airforums.com/forum...play.php?f=287

and keep it short but informative in the subject line:

"lp tanks for 65 Globetrotter?" will probably generate the most fruitful responses.

Do a forum search for "aluminum tanks" or "Worthington". The aluminum is lighter and one of the searches will line you up with a vendor that some forum members have received good prices from. I'd say 30 pounders should work.

The important question is "what are you going to be doing"

Are you going during cold weather and need heat, or nice weather without?
Are you just doing weekends, or for weeks at a time?
Are you going into the wilderness, or will you be near town?
Will you use hook-ups and use your electric power, and their showers?

In other words, how much gas will you be using, and how far will you be away from a refill?

On our construction job site during the coldest of the winter, hooked to a 170,000 BTU space heater, one 4-5 gal (30lb?) tank will last quite a long time.
