LPG port not working

Iím a newbie with a 2014 25í Flying Cloud and canít get any propane out of my external lpg port. I bought a custom 20í hose and while it connects nicely to both trailer and gas grill, I canít get any gas to flow. Even with the hose disconnected from the grill I canít smell any gas.
Iíve checked the piping from the tanks to the port and the only valve is at the port. And itís open.

Any clues?

LPG port not working

Some propane male quick connect fittings look identical in diameter, and overall shape, and the retainer part (the large diameter Ďlumpí) is identical. Where the differences are is the overall length of the Ďnoseí of the fitting past the lump part that locks the fitting in place.

If itís too short for the female part of the fitting it will lock in place but not open the internal check valve and you will get no flow. Iíve seen compressed air fittings from different manufacturers that look fine, but donít fit right and cause the same issue.

Double check to be certain you have the exact right male fitting to match the other part.

There are fittings designated high pressure and low pressure. I bought a Camco fitting designated low pressure from Camping World. It would not mate with the hose that came with my Camco grill. It was in fact a high pressure fitting. I bought another fitting from Amazon and it worked fine.

I think I know the problem!

Someone at an AS Rally told me that the hook up ONLY works with a straight hose, unregulated. (i.e. If you have ANY regulator between the stove and the trailer, it won't work - 'cause there is already a regulator up front at the two main tanks).

We knew that part of it. Nothing we’re connecting to has a regulator on it. Pretty sure it’s simply the the male connector. Going by an AS dealer in slc tomorrow. Hopefully they can solve the mystery.
Thanks!
