LPG Hose Replacement / 1975 International

We noticed that the propane pigtails that run from the cylinders to the regulator weren't looking so good on our 1975 International, se we decided to replace them. Very straightforward job and I think I have that part handled.

Since these gas lines are about 50 years old, I figured it might be a good idea to ALSO replace the line that runs from the regulator (outlet) into the trailer. This one is proving to be a challenge.

I know that I'm replacing a 24" hose.

I know it needs to terminate in a 5/8 male flare fitting.

But I have no idea what the thread size or designation is for the regulator end.

Anyone know what size threads I need here? Or where I can just but the hose I need?

If you take that hose assembly to any reputable propane supply dealer they will be able to make you a new hose in a few minutes. In my experience the cost is not that much higher than if I sourced the parts myself and they can make sure the hose is correct.

So, I've run. around to every LPG and industrial supplier in town ... with no luck so far. For others who might want to know, I have learned that the regulator side of this hose is a 3/8 tapered pipe thread, so at least I now know what I'm looking for.

You beat me to it... I was about to suggest that is probably 3/8" NPT, which is nearly a standard thread size on gas fittings like these (although 1/4" NPT is also sometimes used).

Have you taken it to places that build custom hoses?

I would check on etrailer.com

If you have time to wait for shipping, you should be able to get everything you need from etrailer, they have a pretty full selection of LP hoses etc:
