Just drill a hole through the large wing nut and cross bar on tank cover and put a pad lock in it.

Theres not enough room. The brackets have changed. Mainly, the wing nut you see. Picture attached in just a minute.
There are a couple options online for 49$ that are pre drilled and make quick work of it and I dont have to drill anything. My preferred option.

There are different diameters on different models.
The threaded rod is smaller on my Safari than on my Excella.
Better measure!

I use this lock https://www.etrailer.com/p-TLA7771.html
The price has increased since I purchased.
Scroll down the website and view the video.

As someone said, there are two sizes. 1/2” and 9/16”. Contract Airstream and give them your VIN or year / model for the correct size.
My 27FB Safari is 1/2” while my friend’s 27FB Flying Cloud is 9/16”.

If the rod breaks, and it can, consider small padlocks that go thru the openings on the ring at the bottom of the tank and the plate the tanks rest on.
Or a tank "garter belt" that lashes the tanks to the A frame. Slowing down a thief vs. Stopping one..
About the same result.

Yes, but the OP was interested in a lock for the wing nut and was considering a commercially made one for $49.
I just suggested an option, and answered the question asked.
Heck, I'd be more worried about the cover being stolen than the tank. A new one sells for $900!
