Looking for LPG external port cap

The blue plug that was in my external LPG port disintegrated and crumbled to pieces when I removed it. Right now I have electrical tape on it to keep crud out of it, but that is not a long term solution. Has anyone found a cap you like for your external port?

Check with a propane supplier or possibly Home Depot or Lowes in their grill accessories.

Also AMAZON should be able to fix you up.

I bought some hose extensions and each one came with a blue cap. I have about 3 extra. You could have one of mine if you were closer.

Perhaps a BBQ shop or RV shop can give you one. They are not in short supply!

Hope you found those replacement caps.
Have you discovered what the External LP supply is even for?
1) That fitting doesn't take the usual LP hose connector.
2) Once that is solved, one finds that it is regulated gas and a typical Weber type LP BBQ has a regulator on it. Then one finds out can't have two regulators, so must remove the Weber reg and find the right fitting again.
Very disappointing. I was told by an AS repair shop that most people just by the 1 lb disposable cans.
So what is the friggin thing for in the first place?

It’s great for running generators and grills that have the appropriate connector.

My 2007 did not have one, so I added one.

My champion generator plugs into it.

And runs just fine.

Thanks for responding. I guess what I would really like to know is how to adapt the Ext LP to a hose that could supply a BBQ AND how to remove the regulator and connector on the BBQ and replace it with an adapter that can fit the end of a standard 12ft. LP hose.

This hose did not attach to the Ext LP and of course I did not know the BBQ regulator had to be removed.

Search the forums a bit. It’s been discussed often. I don’t have a BBQ so I’m no help...you could take the BBQ and the Airstream to a propane supplier and see if they can adapt it properly.

Thanks, I did search the forums but did not see a rec for the right adaptor at the trailer end of the hose.
But, to take the trailer and and the BBQ.... might be easier to just by a few l lb cans of LP.

On my 2019 FC 25 the external LP fitting IS the male end. I can't get a standard lP hose to go on it.
Thanks

Check with Ace Hdwe. They should have both ends for the quick connect. I'm sure other Hardware stores may have them as well. I haven't checked Amazon but they may also. Good luck.

Looking for LPG external port cap

Note that the connector on the propane system on the A-frame should be a female connector with a check valve inside it plus a shut-off manual valve. See below for a picture of my female connector with the yellow handled shut off valve behind and below it.

The male part (goes into the female part) should be on the extension hose. If yours is not set up like that, something is seriously wrong.

Note that the Champion dual fuel inverter generator I have does use a smallish female quick connector on the generator front panel for propane, and a male quick connector on the hose from the regulator. It is set up weird...but works fine.

I have a WeberQ grille that I just converted to use the LP connector at the front of the Airstream. I got a conversion kit on Amazon and watched a YouTube video. It took about 10 minutes to remove the Weber regulator and install the conversion kit. The kit was $48.
