Increase the LP mounting frame base by 2.5"

Hi,

I'm trying to increase the LP mounting frame of my Basecamp 20 by 2.5" to make space to install hitch brackets. I'm thinking of two options - making a circular 2.5" wooden block with L brackets to hold the tanks OR welding an aftermarket LP base frame (https://www.amazon.com/Flame-King-KT...0IZCNP5C&psc=1). I might have to stack two of these if I take the latter approach. Please let me know if there are other better solutions to increase the height. I checked with couple of professionals and one guy quoted a ridiculous 2K price to fabricate a custom base frame!

Appreciate any pointers!

Basecamp sway bar brackets.

I have a 2020 16 foot BCX. I was able to fit my equalizer sway bar brackets on the a frame wo any modifications of the propane tank cover. I did however, mount the inboard vertical bracket upside done so that the excess length of the bracket didn’t hit the bottom of the propane tanks. I would also recommend removing the propane tank cover during the install. I didn’t and it was really tight under there!

I should have posted the pics in the original question. I'm going with Hensley cub. I already did all the installation. So don't want to change the setup now. Sorry, I'm not able to rotate the images in the attachment, but as you can see in the picture, I just need couple more extra inches of height for LP tanks. I just ordered a propane tray from Amazon. I'll get it welded by a local store. I'll ask them to insert 2" support in between the tray and the tongue. Any safety concerns???

I’m planning something similar. I need about a 1” lift for the tanks. I’d just make darn sure the tray is either bolted on well, or properly welded in place for safe retention of the tanks.

Realize that Airstream only used four 3/16” diameter self-tapping screws to sort of hold the tank platform on my 2007 International CCD. Doesn’t make me really comfortable.
