Duel Fuel Generator and a direct connect to LP?

I just bought a Champion Duel Fuel 3150 watt generator (model 100264) and was wondering if anyone has connected something like it directly from the LP port on their Airstream? I have a 2016 International 30. My thought is to get a 1/4" male to 1/4" male 20 ft LP hose, and just use the airstream regulated gas directly into the generator, bypassing the generator's regulator with the assumption that the trailers regulator is sufficient. Good idea or bad?
