CO2/propane Alarm

My 2023 27’ FB Flying Cloud is winterized and sitting in my driveway with power connected. For the last two days, the CO2/Propane Alarm has shown red with the beeping alarm sound. However, the propane tanks are shut off and I don’t see how anything can cause the alarm. I can push the test button and stop the beeping and even get the alarm to show green. But after some time, it turns to red and starting beeping again. Does anyone know why this is happening? Tom Larson

How the power, confirm there 12/13 volts in the system? I don’t have a trailer, but I think I’ve seen batteries as a possible in previous posts come up.

Unplug from power for a couple of hours and then check the battery charge. If low, the propane alarm will sound.

Just me...

Charge batteries, engage battery disconnect & LP alarm switches, (self-installed) turn off & disconnect LP tanks.
No reason for any in storage.

Is the detector out of date? Might be time to replace...

I would doubt that on a 2023, but you never know until you check.

Since we have the same year and I'd guess the same CO detector, I was wondering and dug out the manual. Attached are the alarm states. It looks like there are two LEDs and different chirps to consider.

Remove power to alarm.
Use can of air duster to gently blow out inside of alarm.
Reconnect power to alarm.

It worked for our 2021 Classic back in 2022.

Good luck.

Regards,
Ron

Fixed the CO Alarm

Thank you, rhensley. Using the air duster to clean the CO alarm fixed the problem. The RV is in NM, where dust has been blowing around all winter with no precipitation, so the alarm may need routine cleaning. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions.

Thanks, good to know if ours ever goes off without provocation.

I’m glad it responded to a good dusting. My first thought was that ethanol evaporating from the antifreeze in the toilet bowl.
