Black water tank

Newbie here! We are camped for summer on riverfront site. Grey water empties at site. Black water tank is emptied by honey bucket service every other week.
We are at AS about 3-4 days per week. In between (hot weather of summer) upon return and flushing toilet there is strong sewer odor. Should be invest in portable tank for emptying into as we leave (then honey bucket could empty that one biweekly). ??? I have been using Unique RV Digest It in toilet frequently and always tank is emptied.
Should we leave bathroom fan on? Leave Fantastic Fan (w/rain sensor) on??

Thanks for any suggestions.

Don't have bathroom fan on when flushing toilet as it will draw up the tank odours.

Black water tank

I wonder if the seal on your toilet valve or the seal at the floor has gone bad. Does the bowl hold water? Have you tried leaving some water in the bowl while you’re gone? That will leak down if the seal is bad. Then I wonder about the toilet base and how good that seal is. Also wondering if your sink trap/shower trap is holding water. Sometimes the gray tank can smell bad, too, and in some trailers, the bath sink is plumbed to the black tank. Make sure there’s a few cups of water poured down the drains, especially if you don’t use them (sounds like you do, but just in case).
