Did it blow up, or just fall apart?

Does not look like it was on fire - did someone run into it? Plane fly through it?

Looks to me like it was overloaded and exploded from the sheer internal pressure of stuff I wonder if it was called the "cram it inn"

A water heater explosion is capable of that. Long time ago, I saw a demonstration of one on TV. They put a mobile home in a field, hot wired the water heater, plugged the pop-offs and got back several hundred yards. When it blew it leveled it to the frame.

Could have been something he said like "honey grab me another beer" that really upset her.
Best,

Milliman....in SLC...'grab me another beer'....don't think so. It was probably more like 'honey, it's the other wife's turn in the motor home.' Just kidding! I love this place!

The next time someone asks me why they should buy a Classic Airstream Motorhome, I will be sending them a link to those photos! Whoa! That would never happen with the frame of an Airstream MH. That would have blown all the windows out of an AS but at least the frame would be intact.

It was a propane explosion. Two people inside, one injured. The disintergration of the coach probably helped to dissipate the energy of the explosion and keep them from being injured worse. If you store gunpowder you are required to use a container that will rupture if it explodes or catches fire.

This is a prime example of what Douglas Adams called non-linear catastrophic structural exasperation. The motorhome simply became fed-up with being a motorhome and decided to rearrange its many parts into something a little more interesting.

I knew there was a reason I turned off the propane each night.

It apparently blew when the lady was fixing breakfast. The article said the propane tank blew up, but I don't see how that could be the case. A motorhome uses a large heavy-walled horozontal tank, it would be hard to get air and ignition inside of one. If it ruptured, there would be quite a fire unless it was almost empty. And then there wouldn't be any reason for it to rupture. Most likely there was a leak in the stove that accumulated fumes in the oven or somewhere and it blew when she lit the pilot.

Looks like they were in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Maybe they wore out their welcome............

Seems to me to get that big of an explosion, seems to me that gas would have to accumulating for a while - and I'm amazed they did not smell it.
