Angry Atwood LP Propane 1amp fuse?

Our Atwood LP Propane gas detector was defective (solid yellow with chirp every 30 seconds). Of course it was driving me crazy so after ordering a new one I cut the wires to the defective one. Now, I no longer have power to the new detector.

The wiring diagram from the manufacturer shows a 1 amp fuse but for the life of me I can't figure out where it is located. Since the detectors are hot wired back to the battery that was the first place I went but the only wire there is for the hitch. If it helps we have a 2005 28' CCD. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Try looking forward where your DC bus bars are located. You will usually find a single in-line fuse holder for a glass-type tubular fuse that is wired directly to the hot side of the positive bus bar. This is one if the reasons that it is a constant parasitic load, as it is not part of the 'use/store' solenoid circuit that is disconnected when pin 'store' mode. It's powered all the time.

Thank Lewster. I'm looking but without much success. Do you think Airstream would have a clue?

O would hope so, but no guarantees.

Followed the Airstream protocol for requesting assistance. Within about 2 hours I received a reply from AS guiding me to the very front drivers side where they were even able to tell me the color of the wire. Fuse was clearly marked 1 amp. Replace it and all is good. I hope this might help anyone else with a 28' International and a blown inline fuse for their Atwood LP Gas Detector.

And Lewster, thanks for replying.

Still trying to fix my LP gas detector. No power. Replaced the 1 amp fuse. Not sure where to go from there.
