Atwood LP detector availability

I am wondering if anyone knows the status of the wired 12 v Atwood LP detector. They currently seem to be unavailable. Is Atwood no longer making them or are they simply suffering supply chain issues. I am aware of this discussion thread:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f28...or-227672.html

I've been searching for the Atwood 36720 but some retail sites say that this has been replaced with the 36719 which currently isn't available either.

I want a replacement LP detector for my 2016 23FB Flying Cloud. Does any one know of another brand of flush mount that will work with the 2 1/2in x 3 5/8 in hole without too much extra cutting (or none preferably) or should I wait patiently for the Atwoods to come back in stock.

We were able to buy a replacement from Woodland RV mid March. Here's the link: https://www.woodlandairstreamparts.c...e-gas-detector

We had heard they were hard to find so I called to check availability. She said "Let me check". Then "I've got it in my hand." I said: "Good. Don't put it back on the shelf. I'll submit my order as soon as I get off the phone." It came 3 days later.

The unit was smaller than the original on our 2009, BUT came with a mounting plate that was an exact fit for the original's hole. So Good luck!

I was considering the one firemed509 mentioned (RV Safe) which I think would have covered the hole if it it was mounted vertically which I think is OK to do. It would have been cheaper to go that route $55. But with Burnside's link I decided to go with the exact replacement (no new holes to drill) though it is more expensive at $96 now. I suppose the short supply of these drives up the price. Thanks for your help. Gary

I went through this about a year ago, it seems that the exact model number is no longer available (no longer produced) but there is an equivalent replacement, different model number, but nearly identical. I posted in a different thread back when I did it, there are a bunch of helpful details in that thread. The atwood replacement I got fit perfectly in the original cut-out spot.

I have an Atwood unit in our 2016 FC. There are no lights on at all and everything else electrical is working. Is there a fuse or something else to look at or do I just need to replace the whole unit. I believe it is the original unit.

thankks

Location of Propane detector fuse

On our 2016 23FB FC the fuse is (un)conveniently located under the bed in the cubby where all the wires come in.

Hidden in this tangled mess is a 1 amp fuse holder (it is connected to one of the wires on the positive bus bar (copper colored). In this photo it is under the mass of wires. But when I connected my replacement Atwood Detector. It too was dead. Luckily I remembered reading about the location of this fuse and just happened to have that access opened up. It is a 1/4 inch long 1 amp fast acting fuse. When I replaced it the Atwood detector blinked red for three minutes and then went to green like it was supposed to. Good Luck!

Close to replacement time too

I forgot to mention that a 2016 is probably close to the 7 year replacement date for the propane detector as was ours. I went ahead and replaced it. Gary

Ok I will crawl under there and take a look. Based on your advice about the 6 year old unit I ordered a replacement from Woodland Airstream. The local dealer here wanted $200.
thanks again.
