WBCCI Numbers - ETIQUETTE
Hope all are traveling safely. Not trying to ruffle feathers or get out of my lane, so Sorry but I need some details. First may an Argosy properly join the club? Also what is the official size of the numbers and font? I hope to complete a paint job this summer. I am putting a College display “L1C4” at the bulkhead location, front and back, so need to know? If so does my trailer get grief or shamed by stepping over a etiquette line? Plus WBCCI size looks so perfect I thought to copy but in English script. I looked online and in forums but could not readily determine this info. Thanks.

You might give WBCCI a call and ask your questions 1-937-596-5211

Yes an Argosy can and have joined WBCCI. Both are Airstream products.
Do not know the size of the numbers. But if you join. They send you your numbers.
Of course you can put your own design on your bulkheads. You own it after all and I really doubt any member will get miffy because you have L1C4 on your trailer.

Yes, Argosys were made by Airstream and are included in WBCCI. So are Nests, and Basecamps. And the new motorhomes.
Not sure about the rest. You don't HAVE to display the big red numbers on front and rear upper trailer - there are options listed on WBCCI website for displaying them. You can probably get the dimensions of them there too.

I think the main reason for the numbers(or one of them) is for one Airstreamer to be able to identify another while traveling down the highway, or in a park. If that is one of the reasons, you might want to reconsider using any script that would be more difficult to read on the fly. I suspect that the WBCCI numbers are sized and produced in a bold font for this reason. It is your trailer and you can do what you like. Good luck and happy travels!
Of course if you drive like I do, you might prefer that they can't identify you at all.

WBCCI Letter size
I happen to have our numbers on hand, I haven't attached them yet. The numbers are 6 inches tall and vary in width. Attached is a pic of ours.

Yes, Argosy is an Airstream. Yes, they send you the numbers when you join. I think the main reason for the numbers is if you attend a club rally like the International or the unit rallies. For identification in the parking lot. Some of us stick them to the trailer. Some have a display they can show for the rally.

I placed my numbers on the back in this location as shown. Front is above window as is typical.

WBBCI send the number decals to new members, when they are assigned.

One of the 2 sets of numbers I got from WBCCI (for front and back) was too large to fit around my back-up camera on rear end of AS. A vendor at the Salem International rally 2 years ago made me another set, slightly smaller, that fit perfectly.

The reason some people have a display instead of putting the numbers on their trailer is that they leave a permanent shadow on the trailer after a few years. Technically they protect the finish under them so the "shadow" actually looks closer to new.
EDIT: More of a problem if you sell/trade in the trailer and someone else has the shadow of your numbers on their trailer also they can lookup who had the trailer before them.

To avoid a "shadow or ghost" number have a sign shop put red numbers on a solid silver background. That is what I do every 5 or 6 years. That is about as long as vinyl numbers will last in the Texas weather.

You might attach the numbers to a piece of cardboard to sit in your front and rear windows.

WBCCI Numbers
All. Thanks for your comments and Brainodo for the measurement info. 6” numbers. That was what I was looking for. The 4 number spread was seen measured at 20”. Argosy can join WBCCI. NO problem with how one paints or decorates an Argosy. But tasteful. Great info and Thanks again. Happy travels. Be safe Mitch.

We mounted the numbers on a piece of magnet sheet (get the good stuff from a sign shop) cut into an oval. It will stick to your end caps as they are steel and can be removed easily.

WBCCI Numbers
I am an old drag racer; and an old tech inspector for NHRA-whatever that is. At any rate, the rear of the racer's trailers are supposed to have their assigned car number and a class abbreviation. Why? So if necessary, that [I]particular[I] racer can be found. Anyone ever see a photo of the "old" rally lineups? Then it takes no imagination as to how one might find "Moosetags" if they were looking to meet him and donate a beverage of choice for all his Air Forums advice.
Or heaven forbid, find someone in case of an emergency. Cell phones have all but eliminated these reasons.
Put the any sized numbers where you want; select them to match/compliment your chosen tasteful trailer color. It is your outfit.

I don't know if they are still doing this but in some cases if a number is unused, you may be able to request it when you join. The low numbers, 3 digits or less I think, are reserved for club officials and other significant members. When someone leaves the club their numbers go back into the pool of available numbers.
I found that my childhood home's street number was available so i requested the same number as my WBCCI number. I thought that was sort of neat.

Jack is correct. They reassign numbers which become available as old ones are vacated. We just joined and asked for the four digit numbers originally on our 1964 Sovereign. They looked and found that number was taken BUT the brilliant lady in WBCCI's offices (Amanda Hughes - Membership Coordinator) found that a nearly identical number had become available...and one of the digits was an "8" instead of our trailer's original "3". So the number decals fit right over the original shadows.

Yes, we requested and got my parent's old numbers. I like to think they would have been happy to know we carry on the tradition.
