That is not the normal turnaround time. You should call Cindy Reed at Jackson Center to find out what the hold up is. Her telephone number is 937-596-5211. She is the corporate manager. The person that should be processing your membership is either Deb Mann or Deb Sailor.

Glad I was able to help. We keep a permanent site at Penn Wood since 2006 and have spent two separate weeks at Virginia Highland Haven and one long weekend at the Cape May, NJ park (during a hurricane). Once we retire (in another 20 years ) we hope to get to all the other .
You can't beat the prices and they are oh so much nicer and calmer than your run of the mill commercial campgrounds. Plus the people are great and you know you will always find other Airstreams to gawk at and drool over .
Happy Travels

Our park is WBCCI only and isn't on that page. Try
Top of Georgia Airstream Park
for information.
As for delay in application; the club normally holds applications in late spring / early summer until after July 1. That's because paying before July 1 means you have to pay again before November 1. This way you get an additional few months. If you have a planned Caravan or Rally that requires membership in that time period, the will go ahead and process your application.
Hope this helps.

Great club for us
The WBCCI has been wonderful for us, even after 15 years.
Our son was 13 when we started and we went to many International Rallies with him. We got a tremendous amount out of volunteering to chaperone or do whatever with the Family and Youth programs, met lots of other families and were busy with lots to do at the rallies.
We still value our WBCCI and local Unit with the many events and people we have met along the way.
BTW, our son joined as a member with his own trailer about 5 years ago.

We are planning to join (upon completion of our restoration) but I am still wondering what the youth activities are like. Everyone talks about them in a general but doesn't mention anything specifically. Even the packet we got didn't specifically mention kids activities. I am sure they differ from unit to unit but I'm just looking for a clue. I would like to be able to give my kids an idea of what to expect.
Thanks!!

We've been members of the WBCCI New England Unit for 7 years and they have been the best years of our lives. We just returned home from a small but wonderful NEU rally this weekend, it just reinforced my commitment to the club.

Trying to find some info on joining WBCCI myself. I have owned my 3 Vintage Airstreams for about 5 years now. I am thinking about a trip to Top of Georgia which requires a membership with WBCCI which I I had beem considering anyway and to use my Pensacola unit. Question I have is the year membership from when I join and send in my fees or by a date set by the club?

Membership is for the year and ends on December 31st. If you join after the 1st of July your membership is good for the following year. Joining now you would be paid up until the end of 2012.

Thank you Richard. Every penny counts these days so knowing that makes me feel better about getting things started sooner rather than later.

I'm glad this thread popped up again. I posted in #11 that we would try it for a year and see how it went. That year is up and we have renewed our membership. I believe we (or at least part of our family) attended every rally held by the Georgia Unit with the exception of the "Buddy Rally". The people we met at the unit level have been great. Our children (now 11 and 13) have been warmly welcomed. The unit is also growing and very active in recruiting new members. Th leadership realizes that a healthy mix of members is important to the club.
The rally this past weekend found just my 11 year old daughter and myself there from our family. It is great for me as a parent to know that she can run freely through the park when I am involved in something else, and all of the other members willingly look out for her. She spent yesterday afternoon hanging around the fire pit eating smore's with the other members while I got the trailer ready to pull out. She also said she challenged our new First Vice President to Ping Pong and won. That made her day!
I am confident that even if the dire predictions regarding International WBCCI come to pass the Georgia Unit of it will continue, and the Top of Georgia campground will still be a great place to be.
Our experience has shown this to be money well spent.

Back After a 5 Year Hiatus
Five years ago, we grew tired of the politics and me losing too much sleep trying to cope with the organizational dynamics at the unit level. We sold our Airstreams, sold the Airstream Haven, and started taking Caribbean cruises instead.
Well, we are back.
It turns out, we had given up more than we gained.
The two other volunteer boards I joined had politics and organizational dysfunction as tiresome as WBCCI.
So, we returned to WBCCI with the goal of enjoying the myriad benefits of belonging by avoiding the politics.
We hope to attain these goals by being hard-working rally supporters.
So, far we have really enjoyed the rallies.
It's great to be back.
