All I can say is WOW!!! I find it hard to believe that the new president would do something like this at a time when the club is on thin ice. The last thing that our leaders should do is further separate themselves from the rank and file. Our new president must be on some type of strong medication to dream up something this arrogant. It is almost sadly comical.

I intend to remain a member of WBCCI, so that I can help foster change. If we can get the one member/one vote in place, the bozos will be out of office in short order.

Ed, do you have any confirmation of the actual contents of the email?
I have some comments, but would like to verify what it said, before I launch into a tirade, only to find out someone's leg is being severely pulled.

Mmm, not buying that one If it weren't WBCCI specific, I'd be hitting Snopes right about now...

Good day everyone! Well this is just one of the reasons I am running for Regional Office as a 'Newbie'. Yes we have been members for only three years and when I see something that isn't working I will try and help fix it. Heck, I did not wear a tux at our Airstream Wedding!

I think I look pretty good in a white tux.

An ode to formal wear

When I was seventeen
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for small minded boys
And ego filled thoughts all through the nights
Dreamed of being under the WBC lights
On a carpet of green
When I was seventeen

When I was twenty-one
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for big city boys
Who lived on the right side of the planks

Dreamed of being large in the WBC ranks
With all that ivy league rarified air
It was almost done
As a silver spooned twenty-one

When I was thirty-five
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded guys

A WBC mover with obvious means
We'd ride to the big house in limousines
We dressed to the nines and continued to thrive

When I was thirty-five

Now the days grow short
And in our presence you shall don the very best

Because the high WBC office has finally come true
And anything short of white will make me feel blue
Its not just a head full of wrong minded foon
Only a surgeon could remove this everlasting silver spoon.

I think if I start right now, I could have a full tux tatooed on by Bozeman. At least I would need to worry about it getting dirty.

If it's true...

I just rented a tux for our son's wedding, it cost a little over $150 for a week's rental. Now, I may be a little off on prices, as I haven't been keeping up. So...
WBCCI membership: $80
Basic rally fee: $150
Electricity fee: $250
Tux rental: $150
Total: $630

To watch some guy I've never met before, and probably never will see again get crowned "king for a year".
I'll pass. If I want to go to Montana, I have a friend that owns a ranch near Livingston, I'll buy $250 worth of fireworks for July 4th, and we'll have more fun there, doing that, and he won't charge me $250 to hook up to his electric.

I have an appreciation that your group has chosen to go in that direction of more formal attire, though I can't imagine bringing my "potluck" dish in evening wear. My concern with this trend, if that is what it is, is that the group becomes not about the airstream but about an exclusive club. Exclusive it is....many people are not in a position to own "black tie" wear even if they do own an airstream.

I can't imagine myself saying, dear we need to go shopping for a black tux for you. "Why?" he says. I reply, "Because were are camping this weekend and will be attending a potluck."

Nothing is mandatory. People who don't dress up, feel left out and dress up the next year or become photographers for the evening. We also have a Pajama Party night , and Pirate Night.
Here is my advice. Email all attendees and club members that there
has been a change. The new official dress code for the evening will be clown outfits. Activities for the evening will be....How Many Clowns We Can
We Fit In A Bambi, and Pie Fight Night.
Your club know how to have fun!

Kevbo was tongue in cheek, although he is usually the sharpest dressed in a starched western shirt and nicely pressed jeans

Oh, thank goodness. I was pretty worried. Sometimes Mr RedSHED has to tell me when he is joking, too.

At least this year's "BIG ISSUE" has lots of built in comic relief, and no permanent damage to the club.

A nice change from the last two years with the name issue and the motorhome issue.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

So many ways to go with this....

President-elect Jerry Larson, who will actually be installed as King Louis XVI in Bozeman...
or...

After President elect Jerry Larson's announcement regarding white tuxedos, the WBCCI has mandated drug testing for all candidates for office

A highly placed WBBCI source confirms that, "there are just too many people still in the club. Our ratio of capital to membership is slipping, and our consultant indicated that a fancy dress ball in the middle of the desert would be the most effective way to drive people from the club
Quote:
Another highly placed source, speaking under terms of confidentiality, vehemently denied accusations that the board is out of touch with the membership. "After the installation, we will allow any attending member the opportunity to kiss the newly installed president's ring finger for only $5. This shows very clearly how concerned and connected he is with the remaining coach class members. No other president has offered this before."

Out of curiosity, is there a tennis court near the rally site?

Finally, and this will be on the test,
Mr Redshed does not rent clothes.

Oh c'mon now. We all dress up at forum rallies.
Some of the women actually wore silver rubber flip flops.
And one guy (you know who you are) actually ironed his shirt.
Several others even showered before the potluck.
Now that was some fancy stuff.
