No better way to explore the National Parks than an Airstream.

Since this is a new member from 2017-2018 we would not be able to give you their information, I'm sure you understand. The Dealer should give you the name or at least have the member give you a call if they wanted to. Also, any issues should still be covered by Airstreams Warranty. Go ahead, buy the Airstream, join the Club and go camping, you'll love it.
Thanks for the info, I do understand totally. I wasn't so much looking for the person but info on the Airstream. Still considering my options but again wanted to say thanks.

Hi TJ,
As stated above, the club will not provide information about recent members to protect their privacy, so this would apply to a 2012 Airstream. If you look back thru this thread, you will see that the information provided is usually for 1950s thru 1970s Airstreams, and the past club members information provided generally stops in the 1990s, again to protect the privacy of more recent members.

I hope you can appreciate this policy. Sorry we cannot help you in your case.

Hi Peetsie,
Sorry for not responding quicker, but I have been very busy and looking up this type of information in old Membership Directories is time consuming. WBCCI membership number 6838 was first assigned in 1962, thus first appearing in the 1963 Directory. Here is how #6838 has been assigned over the years:
1963-72: DeWitt & Marion Smith, Gloversville, NY, caravans 32 - Eastern Mexico Winter 1963, 37 - Mexico Winter 1964, 52 - Mexico Winter 1967, & 69 - Yucatan March 1969.
1973: Unassigned.
1974-82: Marvin & Nell Ickes, Dunkirk, OH (1974), Dola, OH (1982), no caravans.

1983-87: Unassigned.
1988-93: Ernest & Susan Landis, Columbus, OH (1988), Lakeview, OH (1993 Ernest only), no caravans.

1994: Unassigned. Did not check further, but it is likely that this number has been reassigned since 1994.

At this point is is hard to guess which of these couples may have owned a 1966 28' Ambassador that is now in North Carolina. The Smith's obviously joined the club with and earlier Airstream and used that earlier Airstream on at least their first two caravans. They may have updated to a 1966 Airstream and used it on their later caravans. Or maybe not. We cannot say, since the club did not keep records of the Airstreams owned by members.

It is also possible that the Ickes' and/or Landis' may have owned your 1996 Ambassador.

Perhaps a dealer sticker or other markings on the trailer or paperwork you may have gotten with it will help point to prior ownership in NY or Ohio or participation on a Mexican or Yucatan caravan.

That's all I got. Enjoy your Ambassador!

Ghost Number

We just purchased a 1970 Overlander this past weekend. Ive read a lot about the ghost numbers and would love to find out about ours. Our number is 22479. If anyone has access to a directory and wouldnt mind looking it up for us, we would be so grateful! Thank you!

We just picked it up after sitting in the woods for many years and the Ghost number is 3594. Any info at all would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Steve

I will acknowledge that there have been several recent requests for number lookups, but since they each take significant time to perform and I currently have no free time to do so, it will be a while before I get back to answering such requests. If you are patient, I will eventually get to all the posted requests, but it may be a few weeks before I can get back to doing so. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.

Joe, I can just imagine the time and effort it takes to dig through the books researching a number. I’ve looked through the threads trying to find our ghost numbers. We picked our 1955 FC in Michigan. From what I understood from the owners were that it originated in California, then to Iowa and finally landing in Michigan. Strangely the top was painted white. When I stripped the paint off, there appeared to be the sea foam green Zolatone primer underneath. That makes me think that was a original buyer’s request at the California factory. Whatever history of the top coat of paint, the ghost numbers of 3960 appeared. We appreciate your efforts and all you do. Thanks, Bubba

Joe,

I really appreciate the research you are doing for folks here. Whenever you get the time, I would love to know the history of my 69 Overlander. The number is 21104. Like I said, no hurry and if you have a paypal or patreon set up, maybe we could all contribute to help make up for your lost time.

Thanks again.

My grandparents had the 1963 Tradewind I now own in their yard for many years. The number printed is 199. What information is there? Any help is appreciated.

Hi there. We have a new to us 1969 Airstream Sovereign Land Yacht. No hurry, but if you can find the time, I was wondering if you have anything on number #14774. I know it was most recently used in California because it still had California plates on it, but that's all I know. I know you're busy, but if you ever have any down time, lol, I'd be very interested in any information you might have. Like I said, no hurry, I have all the time in the world. Thanks in advance!

1971 Sovereign

Hi, I have a new to me 1971 Sovereign 31 ft. I believe the numbers that were on it before were 13907. If you would be willing to give me any insight that would be great. No pressure as I know you have limited time and multiple requests. Thanks!

Thanks for the concern. I am fine, but have been travelling most of the summer without my resources with me. Will eventually get to looking up old numbers, but not for a while yet.

WBCII Number on 1969 Overlander?

New member hoping to land a big silver fish this weekend. Curious about any historical info you might have on a '69 Overlander 27-footer with the double bed on one side of the "hallway" and cabinets on the other. #20262. Thanks!
