Saw on Airforums that you may have access to Red numbers. My parents owned two Airstreams until my father’s death in 1988. I’m not sure but I think their number was 10200. Is there a way to check this? We now have an Airstream. I wonder if 10200 was their number if it is presently available.
Thanks, Henry H.

This is just a quick note to all who are posting requests on this thread. This summer has been an extremely busy one for me, so I have not yet had the time to do the requested lookups, which do each take a considerable amount of time searching thru old paper membership directories. A few easy ones might take 10 minutes to research and write up, but 30 minutes per request is more typical with the most complex ones even longer. As I don't get paid to do this, I only tackle these requests when my personal time allows. I am hoping that things will slow down and I can get back to answering such requests later this fall. Thank you for your understanding.

P.S. And just a reminder that the more information you provide with your request the better. At a minimum, I need the Big Red Numbers (though there may only be ghost outlines of them now) and year and model of the Airstream. It really helps if I know when and where you got it.

P.P.S. I do not provide information newer than about the year 2000 due to privacy concerns. I typically only do lookups for the owners of an Airstream, not for curiosity about something you are considering buying or saw on the side of the road during your travels. I just don't have the time for those types of lookups. I rarely do lookups for a BRN you were recently assigned, but that is not on a vintage Airstream you own.

P.P.P.S. I can do reverse lookups if you want to know your parents or grandparent Big Red Numbers, but in that case I need their names, where they lived, and the approximate years you believe they were members.

P.P.P.S. I provide answers in the order that the requests were posted, so when I do get back to answering them, it might take me a while to got to your request.

LVChris,
I just saw this post. Since I have already answered your question via another means, I will not repeat that information in this thread.

63 GT club numbers 9689

Hi there,

We recently acquired a 63 GT. The owners we purchased it from only had it for 8 mos. They told me they purchased it from a couple from MN and after reviewing the original title it appears they are from St. Louis Park, MN the same neighborhood where my wife and I lived in after marriage. Its such a small world. Id like to find out more about this trailer and I can see they were part of the club at some point. The numbers are 9689. Any info will be helpful as we restore the trailer. Thank you!

Hi Henry,
While I do not have the time to look up old numbers right now, I would be happy to look up your parents number. You can either reply to this thread with their names and home town or send me that info by PM if you do not want to post it out in the open.

Rollfast if you find a small plate by the door with a small serial number inscribed into it that will be your serial number and that can be decoded for the year and model. The large red number is an Airstream ACI (WBCCI) membership number.

Hi Sam,
WBCCI #1051 should have been first assigned in in 1957, but it does not appear in a WBCCI Membership Directory until 1960, at which time it was assigned to Harold & Mildred Morton of Vestal, NY. The Mortons were still members as of 1980, but I did not check any further. Since you have a 1993 Airstream, we really need to see how #1051 was assigned from 1993 onward. Regarding these years:
  • 1993-94: Unassigned.
  • 1995: Louis Sheffield, Norman Park, GA, no caravans.
  • 1996-97: Unassigned.
  • 1998-2001: Shirley Harding, Tucson, AZ, no caravans.
  • 2002: Unassigned and did not check further due to privacy concerns.
I cannot really guess whether Louis Sheffield, Shirley Harding, or some later assignee of #1051 after 2002 was the prior owner of your 1993 21' Sovereign. I hope this helps.

Thank you,

Hi Mario,
Regarding WBCCI #9227 from 1989 onward, here is what I can find in WBCCI Membership Directories:
  • 1989: Unassigned.
  • 1900: Stig & Vieno Lundberg, La Jolla, CA, no caravans.
  • 1991-2000: Unassigned, did not check further due to privacy concerns.
I cannot say for sure if the Lundbergs or someone else that might have been assigned #9227 between 2001 and 2010 may have owned your 1989 290 Motorhome, but I will guess that it was the Lundbergs. That's all I got. Enjoy your Classic MH!

Hi Mr. Z,
Since your Norman Rockwell is a 1997, we need not be concerned with who #9616 was assigned to prior to 1997. Checking old WBCCI Membership Directories, #9616 was unassigned in 1997 and then was assigned to a couple from Washington state from 1998 thru 2019, Unfortunately due to privacy concerns I am unable to provide you their names and exact address. Sorry.

The limited edition Norman Rockwell American Legends are great Airstreams. If I ever wanted a 34', one of those would be on the short list to find. Enjoy your rare AS!

Hi Tena,
WBCCI #16119 was first assigned in 1966, thus first appearing in the 1967 Membership Directory, Here is how #16119 has been assigned over the years:
  • 1967-80; Gilbert & Venra Simms, Festus, MO, no caravans.
  • 1981-84: Unassigned.
  • 1985-2003: Robert & Dorothy Schneider, Carmel, CA, no caavans.
  • 2004: Unassigned. Did not check further.
Unfortunately I did not find any history of #16119 being assigned to anyone in Canada. Perhaps a dealer decal or emblem might suggest it was sold new near other Missouri or California to help decide if the Simms or Schneiders are the more likely prior owner. Hope this helps. Enjoy your 1969 Sovereign! I love the 1969 only mix of the wooden interior cabinets with the new "space age" 1969 shell shape. It is a unique year.

Hi Hittenstiehl,
As you are aware, I generally do not post anything regarding WBCCI assignment much past 1999 or 2000 due to privacy concerns. I will provide such information via private email to current WBCCI members only. If you are a WBCCI member, feel free to reach out to me vial email (preferraby) or PM.

Hi Katie,
WBCCI #8125 was first assigned in 1963, thus first apearing in the 1964 Membership Directory, very appropriate for a 1963 Airstream. Here is how #8125 has been assigned over the years:
  • 1964-89: George & Betty Ryder, Elyria, OH (1964), Jensen Beach, FL (1989) caravans:
    • 49 - Western Canada Summer 1966
    • 52 - Mexico Winter 1967
    • 57 - Eastern Mexico Winter 1968
    • 59 - Maritime Province Estern Canada Summer 1968
    • 65 - Eastern Mexico Fall 1969
    • 81 - Western Canada Summer 1971
    • 83 - Mexico Fall 1971
    • 95 - Eastern Canada Summer 1973
    • N7 - Post International Rally Caravan 1978
    • N10 - Post International Rally Caravan 1981
    • 152 - Stampede and Western Canada Summer 1984
  • 1990-2000: Unassigned. Did not check further.
So, it seems a relative certainty that the Ryders owned your 1963 Sovereign. The five "five year" stars above the 8125 strongly suggest that they owned this same Airstream for the full time they were in the club (~26 years, 1963 thru 1989), so we can also guess that they likely took it on all of their caravans! You appear to have a well traveled Airstream! Enjoy it!

P.S. #8125 is currently assigned to someone else. Sorry.

To everyone else, that is enough answers for tonight. I'll answer more when I have more time and energy.

There are presently no numbers on the trailer, but there is a ghost outline of 6208. I was wondering if this number was free and if there was a history beyond this trailer.

Thank you

Hi Wayne,
I generally do not answer inquires newer that about 1999 or 2000 due to privacy concerns, so I cannot answer this inquiry on this public forum. If you are a current WBCCI member, I will answer via private email (preferred) or PM. Please contact me that way if you are a current WBCCI member. Thanks for your understanding on that point.

I am sorry to report that WBCCI 6208 is currently assigned to someone else, so would not be available to you if you want to join the club.

Sam, hope youre not going to be mad at me

So. Joe and I had previously discussed numbers last year, and had explained how things become available the next year following a year of not being renewed. Since I was wanting a lowish number wed gone to a wedding on New Years Eve, then got home and stayed up to watch the ball drop. I then got online and finally joined the club.

They contacted me bright and early the next business day: Id jotted down some historic numbers as possible suggestions (1776, 1969, etc), but they were all taken, so they asked if I had any others Id like, so I just said, how about the lowest.

I didnt realize that I was getting a number that had been discussed here until after the fact. As I said, Sam, hope youre not mad.

Will admit, I do think its cool that I know now, because of this post, who the original number holders were, who was for awhile in the 90s.

Thank you so very much! This is such cool information. It makes me so excited to know that our Airstream has such a well traveled past. I wonder what the chances are the the current assignees might give up their number? Or maybe that they are related to Betty and George and chose that number to honor them? I kinda feel like Betty and George are old friends. We know they liked square dancing (there were a number of vintage square dancing decals on the airstream) and loved the old girl as much as we do. We had picked a name for our Airstream, but now I am seriously considering renaming her Betty. Im super excited by this information. I cant wait until we get her road worthy and can take her out on more adventures and maybe even a caravan or two Thanks again!

PS. I see you are in Michigan. We live in Michigan on Torch Lake by Traverse City. If you make it up this way, Id love to buy you a beer or a Coke or make you dinner. We really appreciate it!
