The largest expense for WBCCI is the salaries and benefits for the Jackson Center staff. You can get the full budget and expense reports for the club by requesting them from Jackson Center. The second largest expense is the subsidies for the Region and International officer's travel expenses. No unit officers are paid anything. Some of the expenses for the Caravan leaders come from the caravan kitty fees. The national rallies are designed to break even. The cost of unit camping rallies are also designed to break even. The national club does not subsidize local camping rallies. The local dues are usually just enough to pay for the distribution of the newsletters. Only about 10% of Airstream owners are members of WBCCI. On the average they are close to retirement or retired and have time caravan and attend club sponsored events. If you review the posting for the caravans, national rallies and the number of people participating, found in the Blue Beret, you can get an idea of the percentage of the membership participating in those events. There are a few units within WBCCI that are specifically targeted to camping, but the national organization does not provide money from the national dues to support them.

It would be interesting to see the membership according to age. As Dwight said, most members have retired of about to. If the club is to survive, we MUST get new younger members. Caravans and high dues are NOT going to do it.

Thanks!

In the 1976 directory 2959 was assigned to Wilhelm, Leonard and Minnie. A little closer to your home location in McAllen, Tx

Sorry I can't help you on this one. Maybe somebody else with a different directory will chime in. 26925 is not registered in the 1966, 1976 or 2012 directories.

This number appears in my 2002 Directory to Clifford and Lucy Horton of Rusk TX.
No caravans are listed.
I believe the number would have been originally issued around 1972-1973.

If any one has access to very early membership books and can look up who had number 246 and its subsequent history I'd appreciate it. The numbers are on O7046, a 1955 Overlander.
Thanks much

In the 1976 directory, 246 is listed as Meyerring, Henry & Lola of Lakeland, Fla. Same caravan.

I have recently acquired a 1978 28' Ambassador. It is completely stripped out on the inside. Only the tanks and A/C unit are left. There are WBCCI numbers on both front and back. Can someone tell me who it was registered to? The number is 12328.

I'm not going to be much help on this one. Sorry. The 1966 directory has that number listed numerically to Dorstewitz. The name is omitted in the alphabetical listing. Maybe somebody else has a directory that will give more detail.

Hi Jim, good to hear you have directories, I wonder if you could be so kind to look up the previous USA owner of my 1969 Caravel. I live in Buckinghamshire UK and have lost all the history of this lovely machine which was imported into the UK a few years ago. The very faded number appears to be WBCCI#1976, but there is a gap in the middle where the round WBCC badge must have been.

1976 is listed in the 1966 directory to Osterhout, Willard & Nora of LaCrosse, Wisconsin USA
1976 is not assigned in the 1976 directory.
