There will be a motion to include the Delegates Meeting in the Revision. I hope you will help us garner support for it!

Thanks for all the positive comments I have received.
Glad to see you are running. I'd vote for you but who knows what my Unit is doing...

Shame really, Richard is the kind of guy the WBCCI needs.

I would say that either candidate is the kind of guy that WBCCI needs. Don't underestimate Jim Schwerdfeger. I am really sorry that he will not be our Region 9 President, although his replacement will do just fine.

I don't know Jim so I can't estimate him. I do hope he like Richard is able to see what is needed to keep our club relevant and growing.

I wish Jim the best in his new role and am secretly happy we are not losing Richard and Jan.

I was a stong supporter of Richard and believe that we need people like him to lead the WBCCI. However, I met Jim and his wife Raisin at the region 7 rally last week. Jim is a great guy with a good sense of humor and he really cares about where we are headed as an organization. Jim and Raisin are friendly, fun, not the least bit stuffy or formal. They attended our installation ceremony in jeans! Well pressed jeans but still jeans...and suitably informal for the region 7 rally. Let's give Jim and Raisin our support and an opportunity to be successful.

PennyRoseDad,

Welcome to Airforums! Like yourself, I voted for Richard (our unit split 50-50), but after meeting Jim at the Region 7 rally I was very impressed with him.

The historic Region 7 installation has already been discussed (off topic) on the International thread, including a picture. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f286...ml#post1188503 .

Penny Rose is a sweetie! And, I understand, never misses a happy hour. (Although she appears to have slept through the installation!)

If you have pressed jeans, maybe they hold you up while you nap. I didn't know anyone pressed jeans, wonder why they would, and maybe that turns jeans into casual slacks.

You'd have to sleep quick. This one took about five minutes.

It is obvious that you do not live in Texas. Pressed jeans are formal wear for ranchers, especially. They will be new, unfaded jeans with a crease ironed in.

And glad I don't. But here in rural Colorado it's hard to get the ranchers to wash much less wear new jeans. Ironed ones would be grounds for expulsion from the county.

I figure if the jeans are fairly clean (they don't stand up by themselves yet), they are formal enough for me. It must be a reaction to having to wear suits and ties. However, I do wash me, frequently.

Always cracks me up when the suggested dress code says "church-going-attire". At my church jeans and work shirts are commonly worn...by men AND women.

Finding Un-faded jeans in these parts is not an easy task anymore. Back in the old days having a pair of "broken in" jeans was an achievement. Straight leg red tag Levi's with no belt and a pair is Bass Docksiders with no socks were standard in my day

Now days you purchase them half worn out at cost twice the cost.

Richard will be running for the 3rd VP next year. Had the opportunity to visit with him at Sedalia and found him to be a very intellegent individual with a lot of experience working on different committees within WBCCI.

How many officers have won their position from the floor? And If Richard does not, how long would it take for him to move up in the usual chain of command?

Are there any current alternatives or initiatives to adopt or support in the WBCCI?

It will be very interesting if an individual were to state early in the selection process that he or she intends to run for office as to how the Nominating Committee will look upon that individual. Will they accept that level of volunteering or will they present another insider and openly work against that individual.

All I can suggest is if someone does intend to run that they start their campaign early enough to overcome the censorship historical presented by the BB to past individuals.
