Mid Winter IBT Meeting

Have not heard any buzz regarding meeting agenda. Anyone have a scoop on what will be discussed the 2008 mid-Winter meeting?

We need to nominate new blood into this organizetion also, like leo Garvey and Peter ? (sorry can't remember his last name.)

Can we get their resumes out to all the local units, now is the time to start the ball rolling.

Has anyone been able to connect to the Winter IBT live stream? I have tried multiple times between 8:30 - 9:30am cst today with no success. Any suggestions?

I've been listening in on the meeting, which just broke for lunch. Couple of thoughts:

-Some people had some pretty good ideas, particularly on the miserable state of the park discounts matter.

-My heavens, some folks are pretty misinformed about the internet.

Oh, one point that was brought up was that the casts of previous meetings (and, presumably, of this meeting) are kept on the WBCCI website. Ah, all while folks were talking about that, I was on WBCCI.org searching for just what they were referring to. And couldn't find any such section of the site. Did I overlook it?

You know, I'm glad that they brought up the discount parks stuff. As you know, I have a double role here: I'm a park owner and an Airstream owner.

-We like giving discounts to WBCCI members, but get few visitors outside of rallies, and none outside of our units. Should we pay 25 bucks to WBCCI main for nothing? (We also place an ad in our local newsletter and love to do so!)

-As Airstream owners, we try to take the rig on the road twice a year for a couple of weeks each. And, with the cost of gas (among other things), we look forward to the opportunity to save a few bucks here and there. In this regard, the WBCCI parks disount program of previous years saved us exactly nothing: The owners/managers of the parks in the directory that we visited said that they'd never heard of the WBCCI when we inquired about the discount. Heck of a benefit for membership!

But honestly, the unit guide was the brainchild of Leo and I was so excited to make it a part of the SaveWally.org site. It was a lot of work to get it just right. But now that the first stage is done I am looking forward to upping the ante by increasing the services that site offers. We are still building this. {end cheap shameless plug}

The full name - SaveWally.org was clearly stated. If someone only heard Wally.org it was probably due to a cut out in their stream.

This is an interesting conversation regarding Nominating process. Don McKelvey is really sticking his neck out to make the process right. The resistance to the proposed amendment is interesting. The powers that be are trying to preserve the good-ole boy process of nominations.

Damn - now he's proposing a change in badgeing for Past International Presidents - he is going off. Don is the new SaveWally rock star!!!!!

Sounds like they stomped Heyde's idea of sending the MAL dues back to the Region level. It is unconstitutional as "the contitution states there will be no region dues". Heyde did not state he had a positive program to address the "MAL problem". The MAL problem seems to be the fact that MALs seem to the fact that they seem to quit more frequently. The reason the Mals quit is really unknown by the reigon officers at this point from what I have seen. None the less. it looks like they will bring it forward again on Friday.
