Looking for Original Owners
Hello,
I hope you are all doing well. My wife and I have purchased a 1969 Sovereign International. Given the age and how expensive they probably were at the time, not sure if the original owners are still out there or even on this forum, but maybe someone knows them. There is a nameplate on the front curbside window that reads "Harold & Gladys Adams"
So, if anyone knows this couple I just wanted to pass on a hello and let them know that someone out there (namely my family and I) are still enjoying it!!!

Looking for Original Owners
Good luck finding the original owners. I searched and found the previous ones for my 66 Safara. Their names were "The Oakes" and they took the trailer to Boynton Beach Florida, I presume. It's all painted on the curbside of the trailer.
I was able to trace them down through a member who gave me information from an old WBCCI directory. I have not, however, been able to find them by address etc....

Hello Steve,
I will have to try and track down an old directory. Would be very interesting to talk with Mr. and Mrs. Adams. I can see the faint reminder of an old WBCCI number, if I can decipher it than maybe that is the best way. Thanks for the tip!!!

Hello Gary,
I cannot tell if the trailer came out of Minnesota or not. Anyway that you can tell from the VIN? I am at least the 3rd owner and the person whom I purchased the trailer was in North Carolina. Quite a distance to travel to get it from there to here in itself. Would just love to hear about all of the other adventures that our new baby has been on.

Quick question. How do you check ghost numbers to see who the p o was?
Thanks R for letting me post a question on your thread.

The only way is to have the WBCCI number (ghost) looked up in some of the older directories. Each year WBCCI puts out a directory with a numerical listing and contact information.
I may be able to help. Can you post the ghost number and I will private message you the details.

The numbers are 8845. 1963 International Overlander. Thats about all I have. I know the po didn't put numbers on so it had to be the ppo.... and who knows when that was.
Thanks again.

Finding the family tree of your AS
Sorry, I can't offer any info on yours, but I've been researching ours and here is what I've found:
Original owners (we are the third) were named Weldon and Isabell Jones. The lived about 10 miles away. The AS was purchased from their estate in about 1984 by second owner who lives 5 miles away. From there, it sat in a barn for 20 years unused until we bought it in 2005.
I called some folks with the last name of "Jones" in the phone book and ended up talking to an old lady who wasn't related, but did remember Weldon and Isabell. She said they were farmers who "had a bit of money" and liked to attend the tractor pulls at the fairgrounds to watch her husband. She also went on to say they never had kids. She didn't remember their AS, but remembered what church they attended. I know from all the memoriabilia in the trailer Weldon and Isabell traveled around the country quite a bit. The had WBCCI #5312 (Marion Ohio unit) until at least 1980 or so. I know someone out their has to have some pictures of them and our AS, I just gotta keep after it and track them down. Unfortunately, with no kids or living relatives I can find, the search is getting more difficult. Good luck on your search. Vintage units can have a pretty interesting history! --dave

I checked the Jones' out in a couple of old directories. They did participate in 3 caravans while members of the club.
