It is on the caravan website. Address is: wbccicaravan.wbcci.net/files/2012/03/caravan-manual.pdf

The Seminar concluded at lunch and the real meeting started at 1:15. There are several motions on the agenda. I am traveling (Beth is driving) and don't have my notes. Motions include:

- Clean up language removing the RV Parks Standing Committee, completing work done in June.

- Loan or advance up to $9000 to the Peace Garden Monument fund to ensure a 25 - 30% price increase is avoided.

- Revise the policy for acceptable Unit names, allowing geographical areas or states or a combination to be used. This would clarify some current ambiguity in the policy.

- Establish rules for international Units outside of the US and Canada.

- Charter the Down Under Australia Unit.

- Establish the 2020 Committee as a Standing Committee, re-naming it Planning.

I don't use Windows Media Player on my phone or on Beth's iPad, so I don't have current status.

The 2020 Committee has always been a Special Committee, named by the President. They don't need to be named a Standing Committee to continue.

20/20 committee wiped off the face of the earth. Imagine our surprise since previous 2020 members back in 2008 told the IBT they needed to change the way they do business.

I have the final meeting audio files uploaded to the site. I have not made any MP3's yet of the audio - that will have to wait a few days when I get back to civilization. CLICK HERE to listen to the meetings.

Don't read too much into this action. The question was actually:
"Should we make the current Special Committee membership and elevate them to a Standing Committee?"

With the number of Standing Committees already listed in the Bylaws, is one more needed? Did the 2008 recommendations include creating more Standing Committees?

Special Committees, like 2020, can be created by the President and given a specific charter. When their work is complete, their recommendations are accepted or rejected. Each new President can create or renew those committees WITHOUT involvement from the IBT.

It would be advantageous if the committee was not political and directly under the auspices of a current president but could offer direction directly to delegates to consider or adopt irrespective of office terms and act as part of a continuing counter checks and balance system in the club.

Sorry about the delay, the downloads should now work for the recordings. I had a little typo in there.

During the announcements before the evening entertainment on July 2, they stated the 2013 Huron attendance was 384. There were some late arrivals about that time, but I expect that is pretty close to the final number.

That said, I believe the VAC parade into International was significantly larger than last year. I'd estimate it at about 25 rigs, but did not get an exact count, because we were in the middle of it. I think last year the VAC parade number was only in the mid-teens, but part of the reason may have been when it was scheduled last year. In any case, the VAC'ers had a great time at the rally this year.

Well it looks like Power has been consolidated at the Top.

Last year they threatened the Delegates with immediate removal from the International to force them to defeat the Constitutional changes. Now they have removed the 2020 committee, the last throne in their side.

225 volunteers to support 150 paid attendees virtually guarantees no opposition from the floor in the future.

If they can just figure out how to have the MOHO issue resolved by executive order it will be just spend the treasure down to zero while enjoying the Grand Free Ride in their none Airstream MH.

Did they actually remove it? I thought it remained as a Special Committee, and all that happened was it didn't get converted to a Standing Committee. Or am I missing something?

Given the large number of do-little Standing Committees, I'm actually glad to see that they're not adding more, as long as the necessary work is still being done by Special Committees.

Current status of the 2020 is in limbo. As much as I can tell (and note I'm a committee member!) as we didn't get Standing status, so we missed out on the committee chair vote. All that is needed is the president to appoint a chairman for the committee to continue, and as of July 5th that was not done. So officially the committee did not get renewed for 2013-2014. But I'm sure it will at a later date.

Also we not sure where or why the move to a Standing Committee, as we did not ask for that. But like all committees, we simply asked for a job and a task from the president and the EC.

I believe that Dale Waters has been the chair of the 2020 committee for a couple years. He would know whether John S. has a mind to reappoint him. The committee has not been able to implement most of their proposals for the last couple years.

Howie, your second paragraph tends to imply that that the volunteers did not pay anything. All volunteers pay the same rally fee as everyone else. Water committee, etc, etc..
