Thumbs up Hi Wayne & Sam,

Hi Wayne, "My wife Sam has been a fly fishing guide in NY for 20+ years and is a Nationally Certified Fly Casting Instructor."

I did not know that you folks had an AS. Sam and I have met at various FFI activities. I also am an FFI CI and teach in the greater Chesapeake Region.

Maybe we will see you on the road one day

Dianne

Following. On the road for eight years now, but primarily fish the Eastern Sierra. Love the Four Corners area and would love to fish it.
Oh, and I like bamboo. Carbon fiber doesn’t work for me.

I would be very interested in this adventure. I’m a tundra fly fisherman, I learned the art on the Kenai River in Alaska 40 years ago, where delicate presentations were unheard of. Just get it out there and get it deep. Currently, we’re not Aistreamers but we’ve owned four in the past, so if you guys can tolerate an sob, we’d like to get on the list of potential attendees.

I highly recommend TJ@sanjuanriveroutfitter.com. TJ (San Juan River Outfitters) has the ability to make your day on the San Juan a great one! Also, he has access to other guides for larger groups. 5058653417 is his telephone number.

Very interested to join! Fly fishing for nearly 20 years. Not retired yet (but soon!) and therefore not totally flexible but would certainly check what I can make work. Please keep me posted as to how things further develop.
Best,
Jo

Abe’s has parking for RV’s. One little River you didn’t mention is the Cimarron over in the NE corner of the state. Small but beautiful, and fishes really well in early summer.

Oak Creek anyone?

Our first fly fishing trip of the new year will be to Sedona AZ to fish Oak Creek. This will probably be mid to late February, right after we get our second Covid vaccine shots.

We haven’t been there before. Has anyone got tips for us? Places to stay, info on the river, flies to use, good restaurants to get take-out from? (Wouldn’t you just love going to a bar for a burger and a beer?)

And would anyone like to meet up to throw a few loops?

El Rancho RV park is one of our favorites period. Best fishing is up by Slide Rock State Park. Sedona is one of the prettiest places in the US. You’ll love it.

ChicknKathy, I would love to speak with you about fly fishing in the Kenai Peninsula. We are taking our Airstream to Alaska next year for 3 months, and will be spending time in the Kenai. I'd love to hear your suggestions for places to see and fish in the Kenai. Contact me on: guyneff51@gmail.com
Thanks, Guy Neff

Fly Fishing

Please add me to your list. I am an avid fly fisher of 40+ years and spend most of the summer camping in National Forest CGs in Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado while hiking and chasing trout. I can and will go anywhere for decent fly fishing.

***update/ideas/help/volunteers***

Hello all. Still researching on possible places to fish. But in the meantime definitely could use some help, pointers and input on organizing something more formal other than a group? I think there's something like over 3200 replies so far from people who are interested. So I guess a small group may not be possible; which is great as this leads to a lot more possibilities and ideas.....Maybe we'e at club level....Please respond with your thoughts or interest in helping out..
At this point in time it looks like COVID will still be a major factor in considering travel this upcoming spring and summer. I am still recommending traveling in smaller groups because of this and also because this will present better fishing and RV'ing opportunities. Listed below are 3 trip ideas for some tailwater fishing that we could do as early as mid Apri-June......Respond to this by placing the name of trip your interested in and I'l try and figure out how to get a list together.

The San Juan River/New Mexico ***NM Residents Only***
Possible Dates: Mid April/Beginning May 2-3 days
Current NM State regulations for this park is open to NM residents only. Although this may change bc of deposits and bookings you will need to provide state residency.
This will be primarily a float trip. Figure around $450-$500+tip for guide per boat for 2 people for a full day. Some wading but can be difficult and limited. Also wading w guide opportunities available.

The Big Horn River - Thermopolis,WY
Possible dates : Mid May/Early June 2-3 days
This will be primarily a float trip. Figure around $450-$500+tip for guide per boat for 2 people for a full day.

The North Platte River - Alcova, WY
Possible dates : Mid May/Early June 2-3 days
This will be primarily a float trip. Figure around $450-$500+tip for guide per boat for 2 people for a full day.

ChicknKathy: When I was up on the Kenai in 2018.... I stumbled on the 2nd run of the Sockeye. We stayed at Russian River State Park campground.... walked down to the boardwalk on the Russian River..... IT WAS AWESOME..... you fish down the River and then it dumps into the Kenai..... I think you can only book 5 nights at Russian River during the season...... campers are all fisherman.
