Classic Airstream Club help
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this question so please bear with me.
I would like to join the Classic Airstream Club as we've recently bought a 2000 34' Classic Limited. However, I am unable to contact the club.
http://groups.msn.com/ClassicAirstreamClub
The contact link does not work and I am unable to find an email or phone number to contact the club.
Could someone on this forum help me?
Thanks,

Thanks Bill that's perfect!

BTW, the previous owner of my trailer was a member and I haven't scraped the Classic Airstream stickers off the trailer.

Bill attached a copy of the application form in a response above and I think that's all I need. I'm on the road right now working and will get home Wednesday and will get the app off to you in the mail with a check.
Look forward to supporting the club in whatever way I can.
Thanks,
Duane

More about the CAC....
Briefly the Classic Airstream Club is an IntraClub of the WBCCI although
from 1999 to 2003 the core group, almost all WBCCI members also, was
chartered as an independent club (Classic Caravan Club). In 2003 the CCC
voted to become an Intra Club of WBCCI. The club is primarily devoted to
the preservation and enjoyment of both travel trailers and motorhomes of the
classic Airstream design. Regardless of year of mfg if your Airstream is of
the monocoque aluminum construction as altered in later designs (including
widebodies and slide outs) it is a classic. They have been mfg over the
years under a variety of names like Bambi, Land Yacht, Caravelle,
International, Limited, Excella, and Safari to name a few. The CAC is more
caravan oriented than rally oriented, altho' our annual general membership
meeting and elections are held during the International Rally. Many of our
caravans have incorporated WBCCI rallys such as Region or Special Events
like Region 6 and Region 9, the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque , NM. Most
of the caravans are a one time offering unlike the traditional WBCCI
caravans which are repeated annually and we try to keep them as economical
as possible. This is accomplished by allowing members to choose which
activities to participate in along the route rather than scheduling all
events in advance. Recently we have caravanned along the TX gulf cost; to
the Big Bend area; from Las Vegas to the Four Corners area; through the
covered bridges of southern IA; and most recently up the Natchez Trace. We
usually offer at least two caravans per year, publish a quarterly
newsletter and an annual directory. Our current membership is about 180 and
growing daily.
We are sometimes confused with the Vintage Airstream Club who require
Airstreams at least 25 years old. We have many members with new model
classic Airstreams; however, some of our members are also VAC members.
Remember CAC qualification is the design of the Airstream, not age.
I hope I have answered some of your questions. If you have a qualifying
Airstream we would welcome you as a member and believe you will find a lot
of enjoyment in our (intra) club.
Dwight Purvis, CAC Treasurer

If they are accepted by the WBCCI, then they are accepted by the CAC.

Thanks for the information. Until I read your post, I thought only the "Classic" model Airstreams qualified and that my Safari wouldn't qualify for membership. Good to know it would. Unfortunately, caravaning doesn't fit into our lifestyle at the present, but things do change and we might be interested in becoming members in the not too distant future.

Missing CAC member
Thanks Dwight for providing the CAC background and to those who furnished the applications online. I had to change the email address when Peoplepc stopped supporting wifi connections, new contact is simmons1436@msn.com. Altho' I'm no longer an officer I'm glad to answer any questions about the CAC that I can. Sorry I didn't catch this thread earlier.

So what's new with the Classic Airstream Club? I think a new newsletter is about due. Are there some events coming up? I would like to read about the lastest caravans and see pictures. Any Perry pictures? news? Sorry Tom that you are no longer the newsletter editor but thanks for giving your contact info. The new site is still under construction so i will be sending you an e-mail. Thanks for all your help this year. As a new member I am still quite curious and sorry to have missed the International and a chance to introduce myself.

Cac...
Carol,
We should have a newsletter coming out this next quarter by our new newsletter editor. Ben Corder is organizing a caravan to the International rally in Bozeman for next summer. I am sure there are other plans in the works, but I wasn't at Perry this year as well.
