The logic for the numbers above the window goes back to having the messenger at rallies try and find a specific trailer to deliver the message (before cell phones) and the numbers front and back made finding a specific unit easier.

Especially if the messenger was medic trying to locate a specific trailor in an emergency. Pre cell phones or in an area without service.

You need to join WBCCI (wbcci.org) and either select a number or let them assign a number for you.

I highly recommend joining the club!

They turned out great, nice job! I like the location given the camera is in the way now.

I think you’re going to start a movement - wait, I’m hearing Arlo Guthrie singing “Alice’s Restaurant”!

My wife and I just joined when we were nearby at the mother ship. They cut the numbers for us right there.

They are on a transfer sheet!

If you know my numbers, you have part of my phone number.

Well, we actually have the numbers readable from the side of our AS, too.
That makes identification very easy from a distance when RVs are parked and not visible unless squared to the front of the AS.
We expected to get some sort of comment at the International Rally in Oregon last summer, but no one said a word!
We put them on the side up front since we have no vertical stabilizer on this unit ...LOL

However, my GT has a rear camera installed on the back. And since I have a 5 digit number, one of the digits is right in the center where the camera is located.

So what are the options? Are there smaller numbers that I could use (3 inch high numbers would work but are about half the size of the standard numbers)? Or what other ways are used to display the WBCCI numbers on the back or your AS if you have a rear view camera?

Thanks!
You may have already finished yours, but we (finally) did ours today after having the numbers for 2+ years. We have the same issue you have: 5 numerals with a 7 in the middle. We chose the year and month of our daughters birth.

DW is very creative. She took the 7 we have and trimmed it down to fit between the camera and Airstream lettering. Left the other numbers big. Looks a little funky but gets the job done.

By the way, out of 10 numerals, only two were the type you soak in water to remove the backing. The rest were peel & stick, which are really hard to work with, IMHO.

Bob, we joined the club as well and I followed your example and put the numbers below the window. Numbers are our wedding anniversary, just add a “0” to the end. October 25, 1980.

We’ve got ourselves a set of twins: 2019 Ram 2500 Delmonico Red & 27’ Globtrotter

How do you get the numbers? Do I have to join that club? I’m not interested in the club, we travel alone, I’d like to have numbers because I really like the history.

Numbers come with club membership or you can cheat and put on anything you want.

Why not become part of history and join the club.

There are a lot of benefits to joining the club and you can be as active (or inactive) in it as you wish. We were skeptical also and am glad we joined!
