Best way to join WBCCI?

We have just bought a used 34' Airstream, have put a little love and work into it, and are getting ready to go full time Nov1. Although I have never been a joiner, it seems WBCCI may offer enough advantages to be part of it. Since our home will be wherever we are, what is the deal on being a "member at large" and what are the pros and cons of that versus local membership somewhere? And, if you are full time and your home keeps moving, how would one determine which local to join, if that is the best way to go? If we try a rally or two to see if we like doing that, do you have to be a local member, or can a "member at large" attend those?

What are the other WBCCI membership advantages, beside the rallies?

As you can see, I know very little about how WBCCI works, and thought some of you "old pros" could give us a little guidance.

Thanks in advance

www.WBCCI.org

You can get all benefits with either or membership.

If you join a local unit, (almost same cost) you can have an active position in the club, (This simply means that you can vote on issues and policies of the club). There is no penalty for either type membership, simply stated, you get to exercise your opinion and it counts and you can attend or parrticipate at any WBCCI function that exists.
If you are member at large, you can attend or parrticipate at any WBCCI function that exists. You just cannot vote on issues that may arise whether it be a local unit or internationally.

Hit the trust me button and join as a local unit member.

Even if you are not attending local unit rallies, you can go to any other unit rally and you will be welcomed just the same.

check out www.wbcci.org and you will see all that you need to know about joining. If you have any problems I will be glad to help you.

Where are you located?

A unit gets votes (delegates) I believe based on the number of members it gets. The WDCU unit (Washington, DC only in name) has a $1 membership dues - after you pay the WBCCI membership fee. Most of the WDCU members are outside of the WDC area - the WDCU president is from Canada right now and the incoming is from West Virginia - plus the unit is mostly Vintage. The site is:

The membership benefits are numerous. I used the Insurance bond for my rally this summer - a benefit that goes un noticed. Plus, there is Courtesy Parking guide, a must have for you full timers traveling (a good way to meet people and save a little cash in the process), plus the Campground discounts too. Here are the other benefits from their web site:

Good luck.

Oh yeah

I forgot, if you are going to be in and about certain areas, you can join those units as affiliate members at a reduced cost usually too.
