Airstream parks

A friend told me of an
airstream park in Charlotte County. I've lived here 42 years and never heard of it. The park is not listed in the Blue Beret magazine so I took a ride one day to look for it. In desolate eastern corner of the county I found an old park with many old AS. I found a large clubhouse with a pool, an office with a closed sign and not a soul to talk to. The grounds were kept up and the grass cut. Anyone out there know about this place?

Was a Airstream park now allows A Class Motor Homes. All lots are privately owned on a condominium arraignment. Some lots are rented. Nice place, 9 hole golf coarse, pool, club house etc. Its mostly a snowbird destination doesn't get going until January.

We've heard about it several times from Airstream owners who own/rent at Paradise Park. You're right about the park being off the "radar screen" - I guess it's a well-kept secret of sorts.

We plan to stop there the next time we're in southwest Florida.

Sounds like Land Yacht Harbor in Melbourne, FL. Airstream graveyard.

This it? Listings for rent and sale look current IMO.

We've enjoyed several stays at Paradise Park near Punta Gorda FL. Very relaxed stays. An Airstream Club friend introduced it to us and sort of mentored us setting up there. The help was most appreciated. I played a lot of golf there. I've heard they vastly improved the links since.

road-worthy?

What are the chances that any of those lots-with-structures-with-AS trailers listings actually include a road-worthy AS ?? I suppose there's a range ... people who've parked their AS there for 20 years vs those who just snowbird there? Any guesses?

Always a chance. Call and ask when you find one you are interested in.

HAHA, I think I just figured out why you've never tripped over the place. I have a galpal who lives just north of there. She sent me a google streetview of that area (which she refers to as "wide and flat and empty").

BUT STILL, some of the lots/AS/outbuildings/prices do look tempting ...

"Airstream graveyard" Not hardly. Very active in the winter with snowbirds.

We have been going to Paradise Park for several years. Nice community with great people. Most of the trailers listed with lots for sale have been on site for a long time, however it doesn't take much to get them back on the road again.

especially during the summer. Was in the area and did a drive through in late june and the place is abandoned it seemed. Some AS sitting in the HOT summer sun and little to no shade in that park. Several look like they were sunburned as well..

Much different than Virginia Highland AS park we stayed at last week. Many spots with some to a lot of shade and some with NO shade but a great place to see evening sunsets over the mountains for sure. highly recommend a trip to this one for sure. nice bunch of owners running the place.

I agree with Carl2591 about Va Highland AS Park. WE were there week before last and would highly recommend it. We hope to go there again.

Hi

Head up to Pennsylvania. We had the heat on the last two nights here at Penn Wood.

(Note that I somehow neglected to mention the thunder storms )

The "Florida room" additions are a give away it is a snowbird destination.........or rather "seasonals" destination.
