You mean the one we were told that would fix things or the lawsuit would be reinstated? That one?

There is a small caravan going from my unit. I don't know how many signed up, but our Unit President and the Haddaways will certainly be there. It is just a few hours from here.

I will not.

I ask because we wanted to go and even planned on it early on. But with my work schedule solidified for 2011, I cannot and Kimber will not go alone. So, I am hoping to get a first hand report from someone!

It will be interesting to see if any substantial changes occur at the meeting. I for one have been waiting for this. In my case I will join a local unit in order to voice my opinion locally and to get the feel of the other members thoughts. I currently am a MAL. No action as was promised after the lawsuit incident will be or should be the final straw for those of us standing on the fence. Too bad. I will continue my membership in the WBCCI because I'd want to be there at the end. I hope change one way or the other will come and the club survives. Maybe the hokey pokey is where it's at and we should all be traveling and camping. Life will go on for all AS ownersand we will be COOL AND CRUISING in our trailers!! zz

Letter From the Wisconsin Unit

The president, treasurer, and past president of the Wisconsin Unit #116 sent a letter to the International Board of Trustees with carbon copies of all unit presidents and Cindy Reed was WBCCI Headquarters.

The essence of their letter was the request that any motion presented at any future IBT meeting be tables until such time that each Region President has requested a vote from their units. The letter referred to the announcement that Airstream, Inc had indicated that it would be willing to manufacture a quantity of new mote homes if WBCCI members expressed sufficient interest.

Also posted on the December President's Message thread.
I have posted the full text of this letter on the Motor Home thread for anyone who is interested.

The Mid-Winter rally is only a 2-point hookup (water & elec)....does anyone know about gray water and dumping??

I looked on their web site but it doesn't show any parking or dump stations.....

It would almostbe safe to assume there would be a dump station at most fairgrounds since so many activities have people using RV's or horse trailers with living quarters

You may want to call Cindy on that and ask. She should know.

Do I have this straight?

Am I correct in understanding that:

1) The bylaw change proposed by Forest will not be considered at the winter meeting.

2) The motor home issue will surface again?

Just wanting to make sure I am tracking this correctly.

Rodney, I seem to remember that Forrest's proposal is seeking a different route: adoption from below rather than approval from above. Even so, the proposal first has to be examined by the Bylaws and Constitution Committee, as laid out in the (current) Constitution.

Again, I'm not sure, but it seems that no action has been taken other than that we already know about, namely, the committee set up last summer to restudy the matter. We also know that Airstream Inc. may agree to do up a small number of AS mohos of sorts. (For such one-offs, there is no telling what kind of price they'll ask for them.)

It was my understanding that someone had ruled that Robert's Rules had been violated and put the kibosh on the motion forcing a start-over. Does that sound like a correct read?

Lynn,

This post over on the moho thread says that it has been rejected by the committee on some technicality. Hopefully Forrest can give us the whole story soon.

Clear as a bell to me.
This motion would give the membership more power and more controls to help lift WBCCI to new level , be more friendly towards all. There is a reason it is being squashed, it takes away some of the "closed door, non disclosure policy making" that goes on now. IMHO

I just called the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown and spoke to Jason Green.

He confirmed the parking is $20/day and it is electrical and water hookups only with dump stations near by. I asked about a "honey-wagon" and he confirmed that will not be available. He said you can come early or stay late and it will still be $20/day.

Jason just called me back to let me know that each site will have a power pedestal with 30/50 amp electric and a water spigot. The parking area is asphalt and gray water will be allowed to discharge, but not the black water of course. He also added that we will be the first ones to use the RV facilities since they have been added.

The report from the special committee on motohomes is listed as item X on the reports of officers and committees and the CBL special committee report is listed as item Y. The last report attached to the agenda is from the 2020 Committtee, listed as item W.

So the reports from these committees are on the agenda, but no report is attached.
