I think the WBCCI needs to split into two entities. The majority of general membership is clear on their direction and so is the "international club" of theirs. One should not be mandating to the other. They seem distinct and with clear imperatives.

Airstream not in the name of our club
But watch these same members who want the option to drive other brands fight to rename the club with "Airstream" in the title. More prestige...

Bring forward a No Vote, No Office "sustaining membership" for Non-Airstream Motorhomes from current members and you may have a winner.

I think that the music is much better. The new music will keep you awake. Now if they would ask Antsy McClain to play his, just like the VAP.

At the beginning of Norm's welcome, he said how many attendees, he also listed the number staying at motels AND offsite. I understood that to mean two seperate groups.
I think there are members there, probably that PIP, that are NOT in Airstreams and are NOT staying in hotels.

This time of year there are many who cannot move their Airstream. Especially with the weather this year.

Unfortunately some may in fact be leaders and they do seem to exhibit a predisposition to want to have it all, and to have it their way regardless of the majority of membership. Prestige also seems to be a big factor. Hmmmm.

Anyone thinking of asking for a WBCCI refund over this discussion of Forrest's motion 5? It seems requirements have been met to send to all regions and units but they are pushing it back... This would be my last straw.
Why would any unit need Don Shaffer's opinion to vote? The vote has taken place the majority of members want this. It has already been certified and ratified that the majority has voted for this. And all of this they could not figure out until today. The region president sounds sucker punched in disbelief of prior agreements over straightening this out... Don's comments are indeed required and yet Don admitted he would not give them just a short time ago. Is that code of ethics in place at this time?
Reprehensible and another betrayal...according to region presidents.

There may not be Airstream in the WBCCI name, but aren't they also calling themselves the Airstream Owners Association ( AOAI) on their letter heads and such.. Seems like that started after the name change issue a few years ago??

Music is fun, better than last meeting. On the motorhome issue they need a survey on how many have Motor home. As I understand it, Airstream dealers still have new MoHo on their lots, and Airstream was making very few (under 10) at the last. I'm voting for a sticker on a new Moho of Thor. We could charge non-Airstream owners a surcharge and not allow to hold International office. It is not good marketing or publicity to have an IBT or IP with a non-Airstream RV.

To be a bit clearer, this is exactly what Kerry stated;
Virtually every Article and Section has been changed in some manner – from editorial changes to complete rewrites. The following are some of the highlights:
· We have gone back to our club roots and replaced the Code of Ethics with a Standard of Conduct that is positive, that further enshrines the Fun, Fellowship and Adventure of WBCCI.
· The proposal is based on a leaner WBCCI structure, with a smaller Executive Committee and a smaller regional structure resulting in a smaller IBT.
· We are shortening the term of office for region officers and lengthening the term for the International Treasurer and Recording Secretary, for purposes of continuity.
· We are proposing to use direct member voting for election of officers and for future amendments to our Constitution while retaining a deliberative forum for discussing key issues.
· We are giving greater flexibility in setting dates for the International Rally and, since with direct member voting there will be no Delegates, we will have fewer meetings at the rally, allowing more opportunity for Fun, Fellowship and Adventure.
· We are proposing that MALs be given more rights within the Club, such as the right to vote and hold office in Intra-Clubs and at the International level.
· There is a simplified and streamlined process for any future amendments to the Constitution and Standard of Conduct that will be the same for all, no matter where the proposed amendment originates.
· One thing that is new is that WBCCI will be able to use electronic means to do any and all of its business, as may be appropriate.
OOur current Constitution doesn’t allow that.
This proposed constitution truly is a new document and a new way for WBCCI to conduct its affairs.

What is the portion of the amendment that is in violation of the existing constitution?

The Constitution does NOT require the CBL Opinion for the Region Vote!

Bob, I'm interested in seeing the revised document, for which I do have one question: Does it incorporate some version of Forrest's proposal, locating major "power" at lower levels of organization?

I wonder if the idea put forth in Forrest's motion is addressed in the constitution re write?
Guess we will have to wait and see?

I Vote for Moss for IP. This man has shown great leadership and common sense. He's not going to let this go away.

I am impressed with Moss too. And the other region presidents who are calling Schaffer and Beu out on what was agreed upon during the workshop discussion.

Perhaps we go a step further, Denver wanted all of that transferred to Delegates, which we are abolishing in favor of direct voting.
Its a different scenario and Denver will need to think about it.
If I were them, i would proceed as they are and see how it develops..
