Question Options for hauling bicycles?? 2003 International CS

I want to bring a mountain bike along and the rack on the SUV roof is too high off the ground to be lifting a heavy bike.
Storing the bike in the SUV or in the International is not an option.
Any ideas out there??

I know some may object but I feel you could get by with just hanging a bicycle off your rear bumper. How much can a bike weigh, 10 or 20 lbs? You may have to do some custom mods, cutting, drilling maybe a little welding. If you're into Yakima you could do that but I would get a CampingWorld cheapo and start the butcherin'!! If you wanted to get even more creative you could also hang it off the front of your tow vehicle.

any room?

is there any room for your bike between your propane tanks and the front of the coach?

a "U" channel mounted crosswise on the a frame might work.

if not, the front of your suv may be the best spot.

obviously, tossing it in the door of the trailer is not gonna work!

let us know what you decide.

No room

There is absolutely no room on the AS A-frame. The tanks are tight against the shell. Ahead of the tanks would severely limit turning radius.

The AS galley bath, gray tank, and black tank are in the rear and I definitely would not advise hanging anything on the back of the trailer.

It might be possible to have a support welded up to suspend the bike above the propane tanks.

Bring your Bicycles

What works very well for us is a front mounted receiver (on tow veh.) and a bike rack. No stress on trailer. I recommend the Softride rack. Only minus is you may not want expensive special bikes so exposed.
